I like KPOP music because they are usually really catchy, I can understand why someone wouldn't like it since it obviously sounds really foreign and some may just not like that. The music is by no means bad and not all are similar to today's American trashy music when it comes to message but with any country and its music, you're going to have some songs like that.

YinYang, you speak the truth. Trash music cannot be avoided wherever you are. They exist and it's a fact. Many people fail to realise that there ARE good Kpop music out there, and most people choose to shun away from it because they 'do not understand what they are listening to'. Personally, I find that excuse invalid. Many people listen to other foreign music (Spanish, Mexican and Italian music) by famous singers like Il Divo, but I don't hear them complaining that they don't understand the song's meaning.

To be honest I do not like it as much as Japanese music. I mean, Korean music is really really good in my opinion...but I started to listen to Japanese music beforehand and am extremely fond of what brought me into the Asian music experience. So yes I listen to it just not as much as other Asian music.

It's fun engaging in their culture and learning their language. Surprising enough, Korean is quite easy to learn, but hard to master. I'm currently a huge fan of SNSD. What about you?

Sorry i'm not into that kind of music. it's trash to me. Most are of Nonsense and doesn't portrait a good message or example to the listeners. I listen to Christian music. It lifts me up and brings me to communion with the holy spirit. It relaxes and calms me. Any other song doesn't 'lift one up to God' or 'brings one to fellowship' with the Holy spirit. I respect kpop fans as they have their own reasons why they listen to it.

I'm sorry but I strongly disagree that "most are of nonsense and don't portray a good message or example to the listeners." Like with any country's music, like our own in fact, it's impossible to avoid music that have a bad message. And most if not all music do have rhyme and reason to it and aren't "nonsense". You may have just worded it wrongly and didn't intend for it to sound insulting but KPOP music is by no means trash, saying so is just generalizing. Though I thank you for respecting my opinion and I hope my response doesn't sound too hostile.

I agree with YinYang. Kpop songs are sung in Korean, for obvious reasons, and you can't just say that they are all trash. Even in Kpop, there are ballads that are meaningful enough to touch the hearts of listeners. Listen to SNSD's 'Dear Mom' and you will know what I am talking about. Look up the English lyrics for that song and you will feel touched. The reason I moved to Kpop from Western music is because of the big hype that's being given to popular music like Usher's Scream, Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias' songs. I simply cannot stand their songs anymore and I can strongly say that I find Korean songs, even the latest pop songs, more meaningful. I'll just take it that you are exaggerating because you have not given Kpop a chance. Everything in this world deserves a chance, you won't know what is out there until you take the initiative to appreciate it in other people's point of view. Don't worry Yinyang, you are not hostile. You're just stating your opinion like what neighborhood was doing.

I am not much of a fan of this genre, to be completely honest. I could get to listen to it at times, but I couldn't really find myself getting hooked with it. Maybe because I have become so much into the oldies, the classic ones. But way before, when KPop, as well as JPop and CPop, were not still much of a hype or something, I have become interested in trying out some tracks. Some of the songs from the mentioned genres managed to give me some LSS (Last Song Syndrome). Maybe you might be familiar with the female singer Hey... She has this song entitled Je T'aime. I first heard it in the then official website of Yang Mi Kyung (known as Lady Han in Jewel in the Palace). It was some of the Asian, i.e. KPop song that for a while gave me a hard time getting it out of my mind. :)
