When did you feel that computers have changed your life?

I've been using computers since the DOS ages (I was just a kid then and all I know about computers is that they can play cool DOS games). For some reason, computers started changing my life just after I graduated high school. I learned to program using C++ and Visual Basic, and from then on, I felt that these stuff can actually do much more, so much more than just them being mere playthings.
Have PC's/Macs ever had this impact to you? If so, when and how did it change your life?

I have been using computers since 2002 and that's when PC games started to develop with better graphics. However, it was not until high school (my first year) that I too started to learn programming, HTML, and wanted to pursue something related to computers.
Basically, I enjoyed doing these things on computers and got more attached each and everyday.

Yes I did. I'm currently in Information Technology Management but it is more business oriented now (they have changed it for some reason).
When I was younger I would always come home and play games and not do my homework, lol. Now that I have taken school more seriously and enjoy using the computer even though I don't play games that much.
How about you?

I manage to sneak in a couple of GBA and NDS games every once in a while. I want to play Diablo 3 too, but it's an always-online game, and I don't think I'll be able to handle that.
I studied Electronics Engineering, so somehow it's a bit connected to computers too.

I am a computer addict as well. I go to work and face the computer almost close to 9 hours. Then when I return home, I face my laptop before I finally go to sleep. I don't have any other activities. Sometimes, I do try to read, but majority of the time is spent in front of a PC or a laptop.
Sad to say, I'm a computer addict as well, and not a proud one at that.

Well, I started having an affair with a computer during the time our first computer was bought. I could remember that it was the latest PC available that time, a Pentium 1 running windows 95. It was state of the art and not many people had the same at the time and from that time on I knew my life has changed. I was more advanced in computer stuff and programming (turbo basic, etc) in school than most of the students and I have learned so many things from it, for it, and with it.

I remember Windows 95. Actually, I even remember this version of Windows called Windows 3.1, yep, I'm old. It's actually pretty cool in the days of DOS based programs. Windows 3.1 allowed the usage of mouse and not just for the first person shooting games. Back then, the mouse was just used for Duke Nukem FPS and the early versions of Doom and Wolfenstein 3D.

Computers have most definitely had a huge impact of my life. This is because of the fact that I know that knowledge is now at the touch of a keyboard, which does mean that it is a lot easier to do research when it is something that I need to do. In addition to that, I believe that I would have gone crazy by this time if I had no computer to depend on during the day while my husband is at work to stay connected with the outside world. I know that my life definitely would not be the same if it wasn't for the fact that I have access to the outside world through the computer at any time of the day or night.

i think the pc kind of changes my life for the worse. i love being on it so much i spend way to much time here and its not good for my arthritis to just sit so much. i have to force myself to get up and do things. and its gotten worse since i got disabled and dont work out of the house any more. so yes id say i realised it way back also when id sit up late and play on those dos games till id be sleepier in the morn to have to drag out of bed for work.

It started changing my life in highschool, whenever I need to pass a report the next day and at that time we don't own a PC yet, and so I will run to the nearest computer shop, type and print my document thru floppy disk, and it was always a tragic especially floppy disk are easily corrupted, and sadly together with my files, and boom! my delayed submission of reports. At the end my father was forced to buy a PC.
And the most life changing event ever in my computer life is acquiring internet access at home, the invention of facebook and torrents, and thus started my life of opposites. Opposites means that I am usually awake at night until sunrise and sleeps the whole day. I know it's unhealthy and that is what I think the cause of me having to wear eyeglasses.

Probably computers changed my life when we went onto the internet. Where before we used the computer for personal work, now we use it for learning, and for keeping in contact with family, for work, for playing games, for information, and anything else where it might help. I guess it wasn't really the computer but the internet.

I am not a computer expert. But since I know how to use computer and learn some thing to do under the net I become addicted and explore myself using more of it. Until I noticed that I have some changes within myself. Not only of becoming hooked as a beginner but I also changed in a habit and friends. But to make fair with myself also changes goes to possitive and good learning. But I admit I am now hooked to one social network site. And everybody knows it in the family. But, I know myself and the limitation of using it as an adult and matured... Have a nice day!

Hi inkyuboz: Computers have changed the way I work since I was a child. I work in front of a computer and my laptop is my main tool on my office. I see how many tasks are easier nowadays just by using a computer with an internet connection so I think that there's a big difference thanks to the way computers has made part of our life.

Wow, you are great, to master the language program.
When I was working, I just learn Microsoft Excel and create simple programs to facilitate the work in the office. I also use Microsoft Power Point, with a view to presenting a simple, systematic, and certainly well worth a look.
