Anyone here who has tried eating at an eat-all-you-can buffet? If so, which are the best ones? I've tried four of these buffets so far: Viking's, Yakimix, Dad's-Saisaki-Kamayan, and Cabalen. Yakimix and Viking's are great if you are into that grill what you see kind of thing. The Dad's trio is nice if you really want to get the most out of the money that you paid. Cabalen, well, I feel that it's overrated and you're just eating to make yourself full. Anyone here who tried eating in other buffet restos? What can you say about them?

I haven't tried eating in one, I'm sorry that I can't share any experience with you. But I would love to eat with one. I'm not really a big eater but if I would be able to schedule one with a resto like that I would not eat from breakfast till the time I would eat there. ^__^ I heard that for example the all you can eat buffet would cost php100 [example only], and you did not eat all the minimum buffet you will be forced to pay for that.. is that true? I really have no idea but i think my cousin said so.

Yep, in some of them, if you don't manage to completely eat everything off your plate, you'll pay double the price. In Dad's, it's usually 600, so that's 1200 if you still have food left by the end of the time limit. Yes, there's a time limit too, as far as I know. Three hours tops, if I remember correctly.

It's good if you have many friends with you. You can secretly exchange plates with the ones you know could finish your plate.

Since I don't live in Manila and have never been there, I can't comment on their buffets. I don't remember the name of the local all-you-can-eat buffet where I ate once. It was probably thirty years ago. I remember I liked the food. It was simple home cooked food that tasted good and the price was reasonable, something like one or two dollars. Except for me and my friends, most of the people there were fat.

My husband and I like tong yang. They have a branch in Megamall. The difference with this buffet is its grill tyke with shabu-shabu so you can cook the food either way you like. Last time we ate there, drinks are also unlimited.
