Indian team fined again for slow over rate..

I think this all can't be blamed to just captain of team. In most cases its due to whole team or most of team players and in this case too. It may be due to the long break also.

Well MSD should be fined 20% from his annual income, not from match fee. Its all because that he think he is smart. Viru tells it all right that its the team that performs not Dhoni. What Dhoni has done in this match, missed catches. He could not even jump to catch a simple catch. Earlier he used to perform like a hell God. Now he cannot be compared to a child keeper. He should quit. Why he is only getting suffered with such fines while Srilankan players could complete their overs in time. Its because sachin not there to guide him, sourav is not there to lead him, bhajji is not there to tell him which bowler to choose at which over. Its because now because of media that he is the supreme player. He should be banned from the team not from a single test match when he did the same last time.

I think this is becoming a very regular theme with the Indian team. For a team which has two full fledged spinners this is really not acceptable. And given how chronic this problem has been, I would have thought they would have sorted this problem by now. But, they simply do not seem to learn from this. I think part of the problem is the slow movement of the fielders between overs and part of the problem is the regular adjustment of the field. I think this is something I would expect them to work out pretty soon if they want to be world number 1. Cheers! Ram

hello, This has happened a lot of times. Dhoni was heavily fines the last time because Indian Team was found guilty of slow over rate second in a single year. So according to ICC rules the whole team was heavily fines. Dhoni really has to take care of this aspect carefully. You have play well as well as take care of these important things. Thats how become agood captain. You need to take into consideration each and everything related to a match. Then your team succeed. So I think he should really be carefull in the rest of the series.

This is happening again and again, whats Dohni doing???? I think slow over rate occurs regularly for Dhoni. He don't mind whether it is India or CSK or any other team.He had got banned earlier on this issue. Its also a job comes under Captaincy, He is the responsible one for the slow over rate. He don't mind losing some money, but its not good for cricket...... If he can't do the captaincy well, then he should come forward and give it to some other..........

venkit: MSD should monitor the progress at a gap of every ten minutes. accordingly take steps for improving the speed of bowling. it requires the cooperation of all the players.

I think one solution for slow over rate is to ban the player and captain who does this for one or two matches and I think this will helps the team to do faster. I think mostly Dhoni want to win matches and most probably taking time to make sure that right players are at right places. I think it is good to have banning and putting fines and this will help all the captains of all the team to set fielders faster and also to save time.

Hello venkit, this is not happening for the first time for Dhoni. I think he need to improve his time managing skill. I don't think that this problem can be neglected. I think Dhoni and the team management should have a deep analysis of the problem and should take necessary steps to avoid it in the future .

Oh my gawd!!This is not the first time Dhoni has been penalized for slower over rate.Match fee won't bother him,but if he continues his slowpokeness in the next match he might have to sit in the bench for the reminder of the series.If this happens,it would be a huge set back for the team.Dhonis presences at the lower order is needed,we have seen him being banned before,but lets hope he will be more careful this time around.

Oh! I was not knowing that. It is really becoming an issue for the team now. To add to the problems is the fact that we do not have very high quality pacers with long run up, the asset Indian team has been in need of. Problem certainly lies with Dhoni. I think he is taking more time setting his field and taking decisions. He is an experienced customer now and has been a clever captain. He should be quick. Also I would blame some really lazy players out there. They do not support team. they should realize that they are the part of Indian cricket team and they should take it for granted.
