I have always liked my drinks, and i prefer diet pop over sugar but is this bad for trying to lose weight? I do know it contains a bit of sodium which isnt good if i want to hydrate but what about the aspartame. my mother told me about a new study which found that aspartame was harmful in the body that it acted as sugar does in terms of insulin, overall she said aspartame wasnt good for diabetes, have you heard anything regarding this? or can you add to my information, i have quite little?
how about you do you enjoy diet pop? what would you recommend as far as having this in your diet?
my mother has said maybe a real sugar pop is better over a couple of chemically enhanced diet ones..?

Diet soda was not intended for people on diets. it was originally formulated for people who were diabetic. Alos, the fake sugar stays in your body longer and the body doesn't really process it properly. The fake sugar does not burn off, it gets stored I your system which isn't helping your weight. Also, the sodium can cause you to retain water IF you do not drnk enough water to flush it from your system. if you are trying to loose weight, the best thing to do is cut out or reduce your soda intake.
Personally, I do not drink soda very often. When I do, I only drink all natural sodas with no chemicals added, sweetened with real cane sugar. I do think that if you are going to chose a diet soda that you should choose one with a natural sweetner like Stevia (actual stevia not the half stevia, half other chemical natural sweetener).
