My niece and nephew had a 3DS but it was stolen. I had already planned to buy them another one and I still do. I kind of want one myself but they always did bring theirs over here and so I was able to play around on it.
I told them at the celebration of one of their brithdays the other day that I would get them one. Now I have to figure when I'll get it. I may talk to my sister and let her know that I plan to get it for real so that they won't get them one. I may get it for them for Christmas (it gives me time to save up) and I can also get them a few games.
I guess that means me going back to MTURK but that's no problem for me.
I have so many things I need to buy to make everything easier over here as well...
What was the most expensive thing you've bought for a cousin, niece or nephew?

I have bought stuff for my friends' kids before but I have never been around the nieces or nephews. I have half sisters and brothers but I haven't had family in a long time.
I have bought them games to go in their systems of choice but not anything like that. A niece or nephew would be different though.

With my nephew and niece i only give them clothes as a gift nor treat them for movie and dining sometimes, i dont give them that expensive things coz im not that rich and i dont want to spoil them as if i buy them i must buy them all to also avoid being jealous and i have a lo of nephew and niece. Probably with my kids i will give expensive things to them since they are my kids anyway.

Most of my family is in China unfortunately, and I've only been able to go there a couple of times within my life. The only expensive thing I was actually able to get them was American Candy. That may seem like such a shock, but back then it was a decent gift. My niece (from my father's side) unfortunately being fairly young was bratty and simply took it. I knew she was happy, but she was obviously trying to hide something from me.
6 Years later when she grew up when I came back and gave her some more, she still reacted the same.. It's as if I'm supposed to owe her something, all the while I was coming here to volunteer as a teacher for three months.
My nephew from my mother's side accepted the candy though politely declined on having it the next time. I knew what he meant. Though candy is a decent gift, it's not something he particularly loved. I'm thinking of my next return to give him a decent samsung laptop. Perhaps he'll be able to use it on his travels.

Oh no that is so sad that someone stole it!
How lucky to have an aunt like you.
I don't see my cousins since we live so far away, but the most expensive thing we bought for someone else was a ps3 for my sister in law and her husband.
