Becoming aware of awareness

A very good article read in today's newspaper by vaidyanathan.pv@gmail.com Awareness is one of the greatest gift that existence has given to human beings.All spiritual masters tell their students,"Become aware,increase your awareness."Animals too have awareness but that is more instinct driven.They are aware of hunger,thirst,danger and death, it is purely of present moment.While a human being is aware of himself,his near and dear, past and present and his environment,thoughts and emotions.We start by becoming aware of our body because that is gross and easier, then move on to the mind which is more complex.Since the body becomes the object and a mind is subject.This is our true self,soul and spirit.All our awareness should lead us to that part of ourselves that is permanent,indestructible,unchanging,for only when we get there,we can be free of all the manipulations and machinations of the mind.Once we can see our thoughts for what they are we are free,and at peace.This is the goal of all awareness.

Great idea you shared there. It is really important to have and gain a decent knowledge and awareness about yourself for it will bet the foundation of your personality and as a person.

im not aware of that! kidding :) well being aware is good quality that a human should acquire. being aware will let you set yourself aside and think of others. by that way you are becoming a good person and in return you will receive the benefit of a happy life. in every action there is an equal reaction.

Awareness breaks the bondage of Karma and liberate the soul for ultimate bliss - that's what holy scripts say. I have tried several times to follow it and tried focused on subtle existence of inner self or soul. True, it gives a rare kind of pleasure, but hard to keep it up or better to say it is impossible for me to attain absolute peaceful condition. Meditation seems to me as only way to reach deep inside ignoring the gross matters like body etc. Regular meditation for a long time is necessary for this. However, our busy schedules prevent us from going for long duration meditation and enjoy perfect bliss. Our minds are busy in dealing with everyday problems that is hard to ignore. So the question is how to gain that awareness?
