in another month it'll be time for school for my new 1st grader! we have not been out school shopping yet because its already all done. all i need is clothes for her. its like she has grown 3 inches over night!! and her cute little white sandales with the cute little flower on top doesn't fit her anymore but she still wears it loL! im soo glad i dont have to be one of those ppl that go to the store to buy school supplies. i hate having to deal with large crowds-no affence to anyone! im on of those mothers that buy things like this in advance. u see, the school, before it was over for the summer, they send us a paper offering us something that was never offered bfore. a way to buy a box of all the school supplies they will need for the next school year for a certain price and its usually cheaper by a few dollars. so i bought the box! it was only 34$. i went to the store the other day and did the math and i learned i got a good deal. so in my head i did the happy dance! But waking her up is a struggle! so for the past 2 weeks we have been waking her up at 10 am, come monday morning, its going to be 8 and then the week after i am going to have my husband wake her up at 630am. so gradually she will wake up just like before! i wish i could walk with her and the neighbors kids to school but i have work to do! but i will be home before she comes home! which of u myloter have a hard time waking up ur little one? what are u doing to make the routine work?! please share! myra is easy to wake up and sometimes i have her wake up lina. one more year and myra will start pre K and then we can both go to work!

I don't have children in school any more, but when I did, the oldest was a terrible sleepyhead. She is a night person and could never get settled in at a good time at night so she was always tired the next morning. Getting her out of bed was the hardest part of the day! I never did find a way to do it easier and to this day (she's a married woman with kids of her own) she is a night owl. She sleeps until at least 9 AM every day and stays up until midnight or later. I think the way you're doing it by waking up your daughter a little earlier each week is the best as long as she isn't too sleepy headed.

that is very interesting! ur daughter being a night owl and all, i think i feel what u went thru except when she was a year younger! it was such a challange and u know what she's telling me now?! she saw in this commercial about a pillow that lights up...she wants that now and when we went to walmart last night, she saw it and she was like "since its going to be my birthday tomarrow...." so we're going to get it for her so she can sleep on her own bed and stop invading our space!! not that i would kick her off our bed..!

Who knows? With a pillow that she really likes, maybe she will sleep better and be able to wake up easier.

Hi there. My children are already in college and high school respectively. But sometimes I still experience those problems with waking my children up on time.
