I was on my to do my work earlier this morning and while having my glass of coffee, I heard my 8-year old sister yawning and called my mom. And by chance, I heard their little conversation and here it goes:
Sister: "Mom, I'm so bored."
Mom: "Okay. Why don't you clean the book shelves."
Sister: "Never mind. I found something interesting to do." (she just went back to sleep though)
I smiled after hearing it. How clever a little kid gets these days! Hahaha. I never did or said such thing before. Hahahaha!

Kids today are really different from us. Maybe it is because the influence of many especially technology, media and with their peers. you may also observe that kids shown in TV today are far different from those shown during our childhood. This is one big factor that could affect the attitude of our kids.

Yes, there are a lot of influence for the kids of this generation.. Unlike the 90's kids.. Simple stuffs, and they're happy. Mostly today, 10 years old have iPhone or Blackberry and mostly stay in computer all day long. They don't play the games on their neighborhood. Very not likely before, indeed!

Because of the influence of technology, there are kids nowadays considered "techy" even elementary kids know already how to use celphones and other gadgets.
Just what you said, thech mostly stayed at home and play tech gadgets. Before, we still manage to play ourdoor activities unlike now.

LOL that's actually pretty cute. Kids do say some funny things and I think its more cute because they are just at that stage where by they are innocent and yet also know they are being clever.
With that said I could imagine my girlfriend saying the exact same thing. lol

Hello edsss. Having raised two generations of kids I want to tell you this is nothing new. My own kinds now in their forties have all made this remark but decided they weren't very board after all when I came up with things to remove their boredom. Their own kids have complained of being board and mention washing windows or cleaning closets and that boredom seems to vanish very quickly. They soon find something exciting and fun to do.

Lol! That's funny! That reminds me of a show that you are too young to remember that Art Linkletter had, based on a book I believe, called "Kids Sat The Darndest Things".It was like a reality show where he would talk to children about various subjects. It was amazing what some of those kids would think of to say.

You know, if I was talking to my children, I would tell them that I would have never gotten away with saying something like that to my mother when I was a child. However, the truth is that I was just like that when I was younger and now that I have children of my own, they are just like that as well.
The truth is that even though the time and the technology change over the years, I really don't think that childhood really changes all that much at all.

edss Smart kid she was not that bored ha ha. Your mom must
be a real sweetheart to your little sister wow. I never
would have got away with thst remark to my mom
ha has. oh my mom was never mean but she had a way of
giving us the face, mournful with big tears forming
and we were quick to mind her, not wanting our mom
to bawl like a little kid. I learned as I got older
that she had perfected that down to a science
as she never really intended to cry. it did get the desired result without her lifting a hand to swat our behinds[either,[e]
