'Want' and 'Need' are 2 entirely different thing, in which, like what you said, is something that people can't really differentiate. 'Want' is a word that you want to use out of something that you intend to acquire but not a MUST, whereas, 'Need' is a word used to denote something that you can't do without it.

thank you very much for information about and you share it my friend. Did you experience it like your want and need. Because sometime these two words are the source of relationship failed. Like for example in our family our wife say I want a big TV set because we need it. But you know that there is still a TV set working and still good. What is your response to this?

Definitely there is a big difference of want from need. There are things we need because it is necessary. While there things that we want because of selfishness. That's the big difference of the two word.

Since you say want means selfishness - so it is possibly connected to our feeling like love.

visavis I was brought up during the depression and the moto of my mom was use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without. so I learned the difference between need and want. like say I need a new pair of shoes as mine are worn out but when I want a pair that are horribly expensive then I do not need them just want them but to say its wrong to say I want something because I need it? ho w else would you say you need something and you want to buy when you can?

thanks Hatley nice expalanation and something round about situation but i think basic problem of normal people. Actually on my first encounter about that two words the word "want" means luxury or un-practical way of life. Like forcing something or somebody to get or to have.

hi, i could say that i want that thing because it will complete me or fulfill me when i buy it,i don't want to say that because i want it due to i need it instead i want that thing because that will make me happy and complete.and once i will say i need it because its for my daily needs.
