I need to start a diet and fitness schedule. What should i do first? I believe i need to start writing down what I actually do as far as eating and then what I wish to do. I believe I must make an extra effort to run twice a week. If i fail in these I need to keep writing it down. What are strategies you all use?

I think everyone had there own thing that works, and it sounds like you have a good plan set. Just keep your goals in your mind maybe set small weekly goals and go from there. If you feel like you aren't achieving your goals so even little things because it will give you the positive attitude you will need to succeed.
Hope this helps you.

I know the most important thing is to remain consistent. This has been the problem I start for a second then life happens and I get distracted I pray to stay focused.

I have started writing down what I am eating everyday and if I eat fastfood burgers I get an F If i eat fast food chicken or fish I get a C for the day. If I eat more than one fast food thats a double F I grade evryday and add up at the end of the week . If I exercise that can help my grade. One thirty minute exercise gives me a B. of course an F is 0 points a D is 1 a C is 2 a B is 3 an A is 4 a double A or perfect score is 5. All this helps me but only if I can be consistent.

That's good you have a system, it is important to be consistent.
Just tell yourself when you want to eat something not good for you, you have to say is it worth the 5 mins of happiness it takes to eat the food or is it better to not eat it and have long term happiness.
Good luck with the diet i hope it works well for you!

1. Join a gym.
2. Go and workout in the morning itself. Get it done with. If you wait until evening, you might get lazy and skip your workout.
3. take a diary with you to the gym. Write down all the exercises you do that particular day. This way you can track your progress and keep improving.
Also write down your diet in the book. What did you eat for lunch, dinner etc.
Your fitness goal is 80% Diet and 20% Gym.
If you are fat, then no matter how many calories you burn in the gym, you'll still be fat unless you have a clean diet. That means no junk food for starters.
If you are thin and are looking to build muscle, then again, unless you eat right, have a good intake of protein, you will not build muscle no matter how much time you spend in the gym.
Buzz me for more details about fitness. I can probably help you out in this matter..!

I am 5'6 and 165 pds so not greatly overweight but about 10 pounds. I have three children Im trying to keep up with 13 ,11 and 8. I feel good when i run in the morning I did it yesterday and felt good. My son beat me at basketball 12-0 and I have to find a way to get back in shape and beat him. I know it starts at diet and consistent exercise. Diet starts with mindset. I plan to talk about it everyday until I get it focused in my mind. I will continue to try.

Sounds good I often thought about starting my own but I would have to be consistent working with others first before I can try to help others.

You live in the US right? Why dont you search for a fitness group on craiglist? You can probably join them and go for a run/exercise with them. It will be much easier when there are more people involved.

I do cardio exercises and lifting weights for the first 5 days, running in 6th day, rest on the 7th. With a diet of 6 small meals and 8 glasses of water everyday, I lose 2-4 lbs per week and It felt good because I feel strong and light. Goodluck, Good day and God bless

I am aware the key to any sucess is consistency. Many times I have started to try to have an exercise diet and fell off and became distracted. This time I wish to be consistent. I am writing down what I do daily and comparing that to what I wish to do.I just had a bad medical problem where I passed out while in Africa. I am 50 years old and my 13 year old son just beat me 12-0 in basketball. Thats unheard of. I used to wope him greatly. I weigh about 165 I am 5'6. I guess Im about 10 pounds overweight I have high blood pressure which I now take medicine for before I was supposed to always but I didn't.
I have three small children 13, 10 and 8 and I need energy to keep up with them. This has become my most pressing challenge and the key I know is the mental part, thats why I talked about can you start a mental diet in your mind.
God gave me a very athletic body which at times I have abused i seek to heal, overcome and rebuild the temple God gave me. I believe i can with a good mental attitude this is what I seek.

Whatever activities that you enjoy must that makes your diet and workout be effective. Have friends with you and make a reward every time you lose weight. Make your own baseline weight for you to use it as a guide whether if you lose or gained much. Remember that diet and exercise go hand on hand that makes losing weight very effective. Eat the right kind of food and the right workout for your ideal age and weight. Having an instructor is the best way to have a workout that is efficient.

I am trying to add in working out with my 13 year old son a staple. he beat 12 -0 in basketball which is unheard of. I used to dust him and beat him 12 -0. I must get back in shape and that should serve as motivation.
I am writing down the things i eat and trying to stop eating red meat. I wish to exercise three times a week. If i can remain consistent I know I will get my body in optiman condition for my age and I believe I will beat my son real soon.
