Many people say that eating a fruit is the best way of losing weight, in fact you can use fruit as a substitute of rice and side dishes. I tried to eat only fruits, unfortunately I only did it for a couple of days because I can't skip a day without a meal :) I mean having rice and side dishes. I don't exactly know about the effect of eating fruits in our body, the only thing I know is it's good, a sort of desserts. How about you? Do you have another information about the advantages of eating fruits? is there any disadvantages in eating a fruit?

I think there is a lot of advantage in fruits. You can get a lot of vitamins and minerals with a simple bite from it. Like what you have said it is indeed a good substitute for rice and such. If you can do it it will really work out. Pineapple and apples are the best for diet. I don`t think there is an disadvantage but i think when you are acidic you need to avoid some fruits because it may make it worse. There are also fruits that you can`t eat when you are hungry

My mom told me once that watermelon and guava can affect our stomach when we eat it without eating anything. I don`t know the exact reason though but there is an incident here that a child ate a guava with an empty stomach and he was sent to a hospital because of that.

aha, I've heard about that as well I thought it was just a rumor anyway thank you for that information it's indeed very helpful. In case of watermelon maybe because it's a kind of fiber. I'm not sure though.

You need not skip meal if you wanna lose weight. Skipping meal will not do you any good. Just eat your normal three meals a day but don't consume too much carb, sweet and fatty foods. Instead eat more veggies and fruits but you also need to eat some carb for your energy need. Fruits do have lots of health benefits just as veggies are.

Hi,
I don't think fruits can be a substitute for our meals. We have to eat fruits in addition to our meals. We need all types of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins, fats etc. which are useful for our health. Fruits can not provide us all typs of nutrients. Fruits are useful for improving our immune system.

I would be careful taking this advice. Fruit is high in sugar and calories, as well as the vitamins and minerals. I would suggest using vegetables to supplement your fruit, because most vegetables tend to be high in fiber (thus they will fill you up) and lower in calories (less sugar content). Fruits, like most other foods, are good in moderation. A good substitute for rice though, if you can find it, is spaghetti squash.

I don't think there are any disadvantageous in eating fruit. Unless you have a condition that doesn't allow you to eat certain kinds of food. For example if you have problems with your liver you shouldn't eat fruit with a high acid content like your citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, grapefruit etc.) but for healthy human beings fruit are very healthy and good for you. However, they cannot replace everything else in your diet and should only be consumed as part of it. Fruit can't replace rice or meat or certain vegetables because they don't have carbohydrates, protein or even some essential minerals and healthy fats. It would be unhealthy to just eat fruit and nothing else for a longer period of time.

Rule of thumb should be everything in moderation. For better digestion and higher metabolism is to eat smaller meals more often during the day. Five or six small meal/snacks throughout the day is best. We need to eat fruit and vegetables four or five a day. Fruit has fiber, liquid and many have great nutrients in them.

We can indeed benefit a lot from the fruits. For they can also provide many vitamins and some other important fibers that other food can not provide.lol, most importantly,it is tasteful and good for health. The only thing is that we should eat everything in moderation and just keep that in mind.

Eating a certain amount of fruit is benefit for us, but it is not the best way of losing weight for it will make you malnourished if you don't eat any other food but just fruit. I think you should try to balance fruit and other nutrient and low calories food. Hope it will help you. Ho-ho..
