A mother cat has pregnant and her stomach is big now. I can see her stomach swinging when she runs toward to me whenever i go home.
I don't know why this time she eats a lots, i feed her at least 2 times of quantity comparing with previous time every meal but she still does meowing when she finishes her food and runs following my foot when i go. I am really nervous to see her stomach is too big than normal after eating...
I have no experience to care pregnant cats yet. Is she normal?

It is probably normal, but she might be having a bit of trouble going to the bathroom as well, so you should definitely take her to the vet for a check-up. Also, you might be feeding her the wrong kind of food--maybe she needs special food for pregnant cats or more of a variety in her diet. Lots of fish with nothing else is not generally healthy for cats, because too much fish can cause kidneys stones and urinary crystals and such. So definitely discuss this with your vet. Good luck!

I think it is pretty similar with pregnant woman. The soon to be mother cat seems to have double the appetite. They have to eat more to provide nutrition to their babies too. So I guess the big stomach is basically the babies inside her. However, if you find that she really cannot stop eating even though you have given her a lot. Maybe she has lost the ability to feel that she is full or she may be sick. Better be careful with that.

Thank you so much for your advice. Right now I have a bit experience with caring cats and that mother cat...I don't worry much about them, just feed her in moderation and even she does meowing more, I just ignore her, I know it is her way to get more fish only, when I ignore her, she just goes to sleep...

its very normal and she will also need more for a while after the kits are born since she will still be feeding them. again, you really need to get this cat fixed/spayed, right after she gets them off milk. or this will just continue. more and more pregnancies . more kittens every few months.

Just like everyone else has said, the way a pregnant woman is said to be eating for two, your mother cat is eating for five or six. She's nourishing her growing babies as well as herself.
Also, (most) cats will only eat when they are actually hungry, unlike dogs which will eat anytime there is food available just because it's there. That's why it's possible to leave a cat's food out for them all the time but have to feed dogs on a schedule. So she (probably) won't eat if she's not hungry and needing the food.

I think it's just normal. Like a pregnant woman, she will crave for food and have a good appetite when she is pregnant.

Hi friend, good to hear about this cat, don't give a lot of food to her and take a lot of care about her. I think she is normal and soon she will give birth to a cute puppy.

hi ryanong.
i really love cats but i never taking care of a pregnant cat. what if try to go to veterinarians to have a check up with your cat. something that are not common in preggy cats because mostly cat if they are fed twice they are full. some vet. will help. or maybe it is normal for pregnant cat to have an increasing appetite.

Me too, this is the first time i care a pregnant cat...i am confused when she eats a lots and always hungry like that. You don't know how big her stomach after eating..so so big. Of course her stomach is big because of being pregnant but after eating, it is much much bigger...

It is normal for a pregnant cat. She always eats too much and feels tired easily.
