I saw Forrest Gump only once. It is too sweet for me but I had to see why Tom got the Oscar.

hi there sarahruthbeth22!
i honestly don't remember the first time i watched the movie 'the godfather'. what i do know is that i read the book first and then got for myself a dvd copy of the 'godfather' trilogy. in fact i have two copies, one for actually watching and the other as part of my collection. i'm a big 'godfather' fan!!! in fact i started a mylot discussion about the corleone family three years ago (link is here, http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2233023.aspx).
i would all three movies but my favorite line is the godfather's very own, 'i'll make him an offer he can't refuse'.
simply legendary!!!

I think that that part was one of the best parts in the book too. The wonderful thing about the movie is that it was good in spite of the book being so good. I still say once in a while:
“I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse.”

The first time I watched the Godfather was not that long ago,I had heard it was a classic movie before that but had never got around to watching it.I haven't really got a favourite line of the film but the scene i found most memorable was the one where the studio director wakes up to find his prize stud horses head in his bed.The other memorable scene was Luca Brasi practising what he was going to say to the Don.Apparently because he was new to acting that was him genuinely trying to remember his lines and it was decided that it would work well in the film.

got this bit from imdb, they used a real cut-off horse's head for that scene.
talk about realism in movies.

I remember. I was young back then and I saw it in the movies with my uncle and my cousins. I did not quite follow the movie very well then because I was young. But I have seen it millions of time since then. And I have to agree, it was and is an awesome movie. It was very well put together, the actors pick were perfect. And it did stand the test of time. Even though I do not agree with mafia mentality, I always thought is was better suited for the movies anyway. And very entertaining. 40 years is a long time. I was 10 years old then.

It is the weakest but is no way one of the worst films ever made. It is considered to be the worat because the first two were great! Godfather2 won best picture. see if you can rent 1 and 2. warning, 1 is long and 2 is even longer. Rent it and cut it in half if you have to. And then come back and tell me what you think.

hello,
Yeah man its a classic movie. Its a pure class. Everything in this movie is just perfect. You cannot change a single thing. Everything is just epic. All the characters are so so special and mind blowingly written that it is impossible to decide which one is better than which one. All of them are great. MArlon brando, al Pacino so on and so forth. Hats off to Francis ford coppolla. Good job man.

" I'll make him an offer he can't refuse." Believe it or not I didn't see the beauty of Al Pacino until he got sober and older. His eyes when he played Michael were Too cold. When he played in Frankie and Johnny, about 20 years later , they were smiling.I didn't have a crush on any but I do see myself as one of the guys. I went for Halloween as Luca Brasi . back then I thought I was just a footman, a button guy. Now I would wear the same suit and say I am Clemensa, The second in command!

I do remember the first time I watched it, I was rather young. Still in headstart if I remember correctly. My grandmother got so angry that my dad allowed me to watch it. I've watched it since then, and while it's not one of my absolute favorites I still enjoy watching it occasionally.

There are a few scenes not so suited for a little kid but you survived! When it came out I was 5! Way too young. Plus my parents weren't into gangster films I guess. I didn't see it until I was? In my teens I believe.
