A body without vitamins is weak. It helps to boost our immune system . But be careful in taking vitamins. There's a saying that too much of something is bad enough. Too much taking vitamin A can cause night blindness. So be sure to see a doctor before taking some of this stuff.

Yes two much vitamins is bad , even some water soluble vitamins can cause acne if not enough water is taken to flush it out . Also no vitamin should be taken for a very long time .
Some people just over do everything , if not prescribe dont go over board .

Welcome to Mylot Jonna...
I do agree with you that too much vitamins can fireback on our health. However so... i would have to disagree with you that too much Vit A can cause night blindness.. In the contrary, Vitamin A can alleviate night blindess. From which source have you read that one out?
Overdose of vitamin A can lead to production of too much retinols. Retinols are those agents responsible for buildup of skin, eyes and also muscles.

Actually, Vitamin A is one of the vitamins that the excess is NOT just secreted from our bodies; that's why too much vitamin A can be detrimental. But I have never heard it causes night blindness either. . .

We only need trace amounts of vitamins in our bodies to ensure our bodies work optimally. Anything more or less than what we need can be harmful to our health; that's why there is a saying that goes "Do everything in moderation". Some vitamins and minerals can possibly interact with certain health conditions and medications, so like you said, it is best to consult a health professional like a pharmacist or doctor before starting on them.

The best thing for me is eating vitamin foods instead of taking pills.
Every food has more or less inside, so while we eat we take what our body needs.
Fruits and vegetables has the most of the vitamins, that's why we are always suggested to eat at least 3-4 fruits a day and a good portion of vegetables, as example in a salad, because baked or boiled vegetables loose half of the vitamins inside.

I agree with you, except possibly about vitamin D. With all of the sun blocks we use nowadays, there is a huge increase in the number of people who have vitamin D deficiencies, and I don't think it is possible to completely make up the loss with food. In that case I think it is important to take supplements.
