Hello people, I am new at yahoo answer, I am not not sure what is the level about, current I am at level one. So what would I be able to do after I gain level 2? I find it pretty similar to mylot but the restriction is less that what they have here. Do anyone here have yahoo answer? which do you prefer - mylot or yahoo answers?

I used to go to Yahoo Answers before I discovered myLot. At this point, I would never go back to YA. I think there are more restrictions with YA - you can only answer the question . . . no other "chatting" allowed (you cannot write freely like we do here). People totally abuse the system on YA - people report you like crazy, thumbs up or down is a popularity contest, voting is silly and people can cheat, oh the people can be vicious there! I was a top contributor and leader of my particular category - and so what after all that work . . . people attack you when you get to that level - so I didn't stick around. With myLot, we just have to stick to the guidelines which really is not difficult (it's really common sense), and be nice . . . and oh the earnings are a good plus. I'd rather be on myLot than YA any ol' day!!

I did not know people are so mean there, I hope I do not have to face them, however I have my reasons to be there, I just hope it would be all worth it. Sorry to hear there but it is great that you are enjoying your time here.

Believe me, I used to have my reasons to be there. It was all exciting and wonderful to be at Yahoo Answers at the time. But yah, there are a lot of immature people there (and a lot of "kids" with kid mentality) - and you can't help it when people turn it into a playground. PLUS I don't like the fact that these Best Answers show up in searches - as if these answers were factual - when a lot of them are indeed incorrect - and that's dangerous information online. I like myLot much more because it is casual and you do eventually get to know people . . . over in YA land, it can be quite dry because you are supposed to be that way.

Hi friend, good to hear that you are using yahoo answers, i have level 2 account with yahoo answers. after getting level 2 you can post live links in your reply. But we must give our replies carefully, since other people can report about it and we don't have the ability to create another account with the same id if our account is banned there

I used Yahoo answers a little bit before but I liked myLot better when I found it. There are no differences that I know as you level up there except that it shows an experience level.

JenInTN I guess each system has it own merits, mylot is really good when I have some news to share, but when it comes to asking questions, perhaps yahoo answers with their bigger network would be the place to go for answers.

I haven't been on yahoo answers for about 3-4 years. It just seems like a lot of work just to leave some links to your money page. Decent traffic though.

I do not understand how the violation system, I got a violation but I am not too sure why the people report do not give the reasons, I felt it is rather unfair people just push the violate flag for no reason at all. Yahoo should actually revamp their system.

I actually don't know anything about yahoo answers. I guess it might be something that is kind of similar to what mylot is, but I don't think that there is any other kind of platform that would even compare at all with what we have on mylot. The things that I love about mylot is that we are able to talk about a question for as long as we would like to talk about those questions. With yahoo answers, I believe that you are able to give an answer to a question, but I don't think that it is possible to talk back and forth about the question that you asked.

I too am a member of yahoo answers, but really not sure how it works, I don't go there that often. I'll watch this thread to see what answers you get.

Violann, I am not sure if it would work, but I help people out and hopefully build a reputation and people would want to visit my site.

I go n both forums just out of interest really. I am level 7 on answers but you don't earn money. On here you do and after about 3 years I have made about 5 dollars. Whoopee a bit more and I am off to Bahamas for my holidays

I'm new to yahoo answers too. Although I have checked yahoo answers many times for my questions, I have never posted any question at this site nor any answer. But I have heard that we do not earn anything for the answers we post at the site.

yes you are right you do not earn anything there, however because the network is bigger, you would actually have a better chance of your answers being answered. so you might want to have a look at it and ask some questions. you might be surprise what you might find. By the way what is your name there?

Definitely Mylot! There're lots of strange people in Yahoo who always report you without any reason no matter how well you answer the questions.Lots of my best answers were reported and deleted.I was disappointed by Yahoo and never visit it anymore.
