hi mylotters. Ever wonder why there is corruption in governments? I have. I don't understand why fame and power can make a person greedy. Sometimes there will be good people that would want to run in the government to change the country. but when they get elected and are already in the position, they change. Why is this happening? Why do people become corrupt when they are in government?

Not just because corruption is one popular world in the government or the politics doesn't mean that it is the sole place where corruption exists. I believe it could happen anywhere. It just so happened that corruption, in the government, is usually known that has something to do with power and money, but it could occur even in the other aspects of the world, as well. We really couldn't tell why people chose the twisted path of corruption, or of being corrupted, right? Somehow some people could tend to think that they could emerge successful in whichever way possible by using unfair means of the corrupt. It has something to do with the people's desire to arise as a success in a speedy manner, leading to thoughts that only the unlawful or unorthodox ways could obtain. They become DESPERATE to stand out FAST, when in reality, one could reach success in but a GRADUAL manner, still.

The Bible accurately describe the social profile of our time.2 Timothy 3:1-4 speaks about signs of the LAST DAYS" it stated - 'In the last days, critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, unthankful, disloyal, having n natural affection, not open to any agreement, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures than lovers of God.'If we try to contemplate on this bible text,it is definitely happening and these are the qualities that makes a person greedy and corrupt. So, no matter how and what a person is,no matter how influential or rich, or good he is, He is still a human, AN IMPERFECT HUMAN, who can not eliminate all injustices, all corruption, all problems that we're facing nowadays.Added to this, the bible book of Jeremiah 10:23 said " It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step." and Psalm 146:3 also said " Do not put your trust in nobles...to whom no salvation belongs." So,WITHOUT QUESTION,human rule is nothing. If we try to acknowledge these FACT,if we take it tour heart, we wont be disillussioned when human efforts fail.
What then can be the solution?Bible prophecy reveals.Daniel 2:44 answered " In the days of those Kings(government)the God of heaven will set up a kingdom..it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms(man-made), and it itself will stand to times indefinite."what happened next? Psalm 37:10 stated:"Just a little while longer and the wicked one will be no more."
God provided us the Bible to give us wisdom, insight and directions in our life.(2 Timothy 3:16,17) Everyone must read it to learn more about Gods purposes to His people.May everyone realize it.^___^

I think the power and money makes their minds go corrupt. It requires a lot of determination and self-control to not allow these things go too high on our minds. And very few people are able to do that.

Because we allow them. Let us put it in a simple situation. A candidate is campaigning for a certain position, before the election come, he will be flooded with solicitations for all reasons available. After the election, same scenario will happen. How much is the salary of these government officials? Where will they get the amount to be given to these people who keeps on asking for help?

Good point and something that I'm sure a lot of people ponder as well including myself.
It's not only in government that this is happening but in a lot of other places, such as workplace, world of entertainment or even family. I believe I have the answer to this, although unusual but it holds the truth:
Fame, power, greed are some of the words devil like to use on humans. The main purpose is to bring us away from our Creator, God. What do men that seek power and fame have in common? Publicity. And that may lead them to being greedy. I mean, all of us like being famous no? But being famous for a good reason is good but we should not never ever take away God's fame and put it onto us!
We see good people turn bad many times, they often blame on other things such as situation, peer pressure, etc... Is it true? No it's not, it's a matter of choice. God created us and gave us a gift of free choice. Some people work their way up disguising themselves as good people only to show their true colors when they've attained what they want.
