Starting my first blog.

So, I started my first blog. I successfully picked out a topic and wrote my first blog post. I can't decide whether or not I want to two several small information blogs or really big, long posts. I was wondering what the pros and cons of this would be.
Also, I know nothing about SEO. I understand that it has to do with keywords and search engines, but other than that, I'm pretty much stuck. I named the blog "Bill Saving Advice" and my first blog post is titled "Electrical Efficiency and the Consequences of Light Bulbs".
I'm wondering what others think of my blog. Besides the template, which I plan to update later today or tomorrow, I know I need more content. But for a first post, could I get some critics out there to give me some constructive criticism?

jeawings,
Your blog post was short, but I found it interesting. I had never thought about the effects of the bulb heating up on my overall energy bill. Perhaps you could add information about cooler light bulbs, if such exists. In addition to having appropriate keywords in your post, i.e. keywords that people would use to search for the information you are providing, I would also start submitting the posts to as many social networking sites as you can. All the best to you and keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read up on my blog. It is interesting the information I have researched and found out over the past few days, and because of this, it has given me a great topic to write about. There are a few light bulbs that are cooler for sure, so I will definitely add some information about them.
I have a quick question though that you might have the answer to. Should I wait until I have about 5 to 10 posts before submitting my blog to social networking sites and such?

Thank you josechukkiri. I do plan on posting more often, but right now I don't have time to do daily postings. Maybe 2 to 3 posts per week is all I can do right now. When I get some extra time, should I write a bunch of posts and have them waiting in draft so I can just easily publish them when I have a busy day that I can't add much content?

Hi jeawings! Yes I've read the article and it is very interesting. You could improve it by adding the conclusion. What is the general impact? Overall, the article is quite good. Good luck!

Thank you Aries. I am actually adding more content each day, but I just don't have a lot of time each day to do a whole lot. My blog might not flourish real fast like some other blogs, but that's just because my time investment is very low, because I work 2 jobs and have a daughter to take care of.
I did add a little more information and plan to add a little more over the weekend. I spoke more about thermal emissions and the types of light bulbs that can help reduce heat in the house.
