Anyone take Spirulina? How long have you taken it? Is it good for you? I started to take Spirulina about two weeks ago, and I feel I become more energetic and my complexion is clear.

Hi HelloMickey, My Mom bought Spirulina 2 months ago and she took it. My mom has high blood, high cholesterol and sugar. She drink Spirulina together with the prescribe medicine by her physician. After a couple of months she noticed that everything was back to normal. I think it worked for her. I guess it's safe to use also for those who wants to have a strong immune system. Of course, healthy diet, exercise is also important.

My dad has high blood pressure and high lipid level, he didn't take spirulina. But I introduced him to add wheat germ in his diet, he has taken it for over 5 months, his blood level is back to normal too, but his triglyceride level is still a bit higher than normal. It's good to hear that spirulina might help high cholesterol, maybe I need to introduce him about this as well. Thanks for your information, litvillegas.

I don't take it, but I've heard a lot of good things about it. I've heard some people on television talk about putting it in their protein shakes.

That's a good idea to put it in protein shakes, I think I should try this one. Thanks so much for your response.

A few years ago when one of daughters was 4 (I think) I made her take spirulina because I didnt want to give her those steroid creams for her eczema. I notice change in her skin. The skin seem to be peeling. But I think the process becomes too painful for a 4 year old so I stopped. I didnt continue to see if the 'treatment' works. But there is another thing that worked in the process. My daughter has a small growth when she was born. This growth under her armpit looks like excess skin. To my surprise with her intake of the spirulina, the growth dried up and dropped off. I didnt consult a doctor about this so I cannot confirm it and I think a doctor wouldnt dare support my claims either. With what you say, I shall start to take spirulina for myself.

I didn't know either, but I searched its benefits through internet. Finally, I brought a bottle of spirulina, and took it. Hope this spirulina can help keep my body alkaline, and I can become more healthier. Thank you for your response.

I never take suplement since I was born. Some friends have suggested to take suplement, but I don't think I'm in need of it for now. I have healthy food to consume everyday and always take care my health. I have friend who take Spirulina, just like you she said that she feel more energetic during the work days which sometimes make her body unfit. May be some people need suplement depend on how important the suplement can help them to stay fit.
