Get the red Porsche

So we had a joint brokerage account. I got the paperwork to split it, got R's signature and everything, got my half of the money moved. He never filled out the paperwork to set up his own account, so his money has been sitting in the old joint account. When the house sold, he deposited his money in there. The other day he goes to buy some stock with the money, and finds out that half of it is gone. They must have assumed that half of it is mine, and transferred it to my account.
So he writes an e-mail to our broker telling him that if he's going to use the money to buy a Porsche, get the red one.
hahaha
Well at least he has a sense of humor about it.
Party time?

I want anything that comes with a chauffeur... preferably one that doesn't always depend on me to navigate and watch out for potential accidents.

A sense of humour goes a long way, be thankful he wasn't hellbent on causing grief about the money. Some people would. Money causes so much heartache, jealousy, greed and misery in this world. I hope you get to keep the money, and if you do treat yourself, pamper yourself, you deserve it. I am sure he wouldn't mind! I don't like porsches myself, I would get a jeep instead LOL.

Hmm, I wonder if you are allowed to buy the red one with the extra money that has ended up in your account too? LOL.
I know that you have to return the money to him, but I do think that it is quite funny that he was able to find some humor in the fact that there was a mistake that was made in the face of everything. I know that most people in the world would be quite upset if a mistake like this happened and wouldn't be able to find any humor in the mistake.

Will you have to give up any interest that amount may have incurred while in your account?

Well, dear friend Dawnald, it seems to me that you are slowly stabilizing even economically. First you find a job, and this, today more than ever, it is very important.
Then I think I understood from what you wrote that now your bank account is becoming pretty solid since you were paid the money from the sale of the house.
As to the speech of the Porsche, well, I was just so funny LOL
Ok, Dawnald, are okay, let's celebrate!
