is life paradoxical?!! is god unfair?

Wise man says, pain and pleasure are two opposite but integral parts of a life, like a coin. One can not have either of a particular one. Whenever we are in pain, we start pondering about past life, karma etc. We look up at God. Is it true that God plays unfair games with us? To the believers, God is considered as omnipotent father or mother who saves us from distress. If so, why there is so much pain and sorrow? Again wise man says, HE teaches us, reminds us about the purpose of a particular life through pain and sorrow. Our parents, during our childhood, sometimes punished us for wrongdoings. But we never thought that they were unfair. So why do we think the same about God? Whatever coming to us in the form of pain and pleasure is HIS blessings. This thought can help us overcome pain and sorrow. I passed through difficult times in recent past. The moment i realized that it is nothing but HIS blessings only, I gained strength to withstand the burden of pain.
