Companies everywhere have their own set of requirements for every applicant's looking for a job.One of the first qualification is the educational attainment. It clearly stated that must be a college degree. No experience needed. While seeking for a job i said it's okay because I possess everything mention on the latter, however, right now when I'm already working this confusion came to my mind. What's the diffrence of hiring people who don't have that educational attainment but have experience for those who have education?Mylotters which would you prefer to hire if you have your own company in the future?

I am wondering at times how come they are looking for someone who is from reputable schools or universities? There are companies who are really into profiling and yet they expect too much that some reputable universities are very much competitive compare to schools that are not high end. But seriously it is really up to the person if he or she can be competitive or not. It is not about the school.

If the people have experience but do not have deucational attainment, and his/her working experience definitely can qualify the job,so that is OK,the season why we hire people is to work, education just show that you have the potential ability to do this job,but not absolute, there are many people have higher education but can not handle some jobs.
But if applicant both have good education and good experience, that is perfect.

Well for me edcational attainment is basic requirement for employers of course but then in real life experience would better get you a good job and leverage with your employer. Education is needed to prove that you are eligible but experience will further be a nice thing to put in since you would show to your employer that you were able to apply your skills already and have proven that you practice what you learned from your education.
So if I would choose experience can be a better choice since this will tell how an applicant has applied his skills

maybe it depend on what kind of job. some of those jobs need more experience than education. But ther is inportant thing that often happen, person who just prioritize their experience without education basic, they are not really good to manage their work. it is my husbands experienced in his company.

I think we need both. Students just graduated when go to work, students have to learn more to do work, they need time to learn more for the real works. With a person who has experiences in works, they need to study more to understand theory that maybe used for their works.

Most definately experience! Education looks pretty on paper but there are some things that can't be taught until it's experienced hands on. Unfortunately I think so many companies look at education before experience though, probably missing out on some valuable potential employees.

I have to choose both. Basically, education and experience should both be present when we are going to hire someone in a certain job. But the most important quality if I will be asked, is the attitude. You may have the highest educational attainment and the widest experience possible, but if you do not posses the proper attitude, there is no way you can perform a certain job at its best.

I think both experience and education in work are important. When we join in work, experience is more important, but education becomes more important after we begin to work.

I feel these days experience are having an edge over the bookish knowledge or degree that we have under our belt. And this is probably the reason more and more colleges are including practical courses in their main course. But you of course cannot take any credit from degree holders. It is a need too. But after all you need that one should be able to complete task for that perhaps an experienced has an edge.
