For those who still write in a journal or write out poems, letters, stories: When you are writing different things, does your writing tend to be different? Mine does. I will have times and different subjects that come out looking different. My signature looks different also. But that is depending on if I am tired usually.

It is weird because I do have different handwritings on all of my pages in my journal. My husband said to me the other day who wrote that page? I said I did silly! Lol. I just have a bunch of ways that I write. Sometimes script/cursive, sometimes it looks more like calligraphy almost and other times my letters are fat and bigger. Lol, it all depends...

I too write differently fro different subjects. I don't know why that happens but I guess is the way our subconscious works. As for the signature that happens to me too but believe the essence of your writing will always be the same, no matter how different it looks physically. That's my opinion

Waldiedragon,
I agree with you. I am thinking that my situation might be different because I have some different conditions where I am in different states of how I think and feel. I wanted to see if anyone else thought that way or had that situation.

echoforever,
The style is specific on the audience for sure. My mylot style is more explanantory and longer. My writing style is short on face book and more humor. My penmanship is different for the states that I in, which is the subconscience.
Thanks for responding.

I believe it is just that we know our audience is different. That is what happens for me. I suppose it is in a way a sub concious act because some of our actions rely on who we know or who see's or reads what we do.

hi katie0, I think that so far you are the first one to actually understand what I am actually writing about here. It is hard for people to understand my writing when I am writing in my journal. But when I am writing poetry or something for someone else, my writing is very neat. But there are times that I write more of a slant to the right, the left and strait up and down. Little letters, tall letters. It seems to change a lot with me.

It does, and I have seen drastic changes in it. Like when I started out writing, I used to post in forums a lot, and used to write about stuff that I liked. So, that gave my articles, a friendly, playful tone.
But now, I mostly write boring reviews and stuff. They require me to have a formal tone while writing, and I have adapted that. I have also noticed that I have a tough time making posts at the various forums that I'm a part of, mainly because English is not my first language.
So, yeah. My writing changes according to what I'm writing.

hi boyuancy,
I am like this also. And there are times when I just dont have anything to say on any topics. Then another day I am full of content to share. But the one thing that I need to write on is my book and I am often at a great loss of entries in my chapters. But when I do get them I get right to my paper.

Yes I certainly write differently when I am writing in different places or for different things. For example, here on myLot I tend to extend my writing somewhat because - more writing is usually meaning, more money. But I also tend to try to keep it friendly and formal as if speaking with a friend.
If I am writing for an article site I like to try to make my point more quickly. Also I will try to be as technical as I need to be depending on the topic I am writing on. Those are more of a neutral mood when I write articles.
Poems can go any where and so it depends which topic my poem is on. Sometimes it will be friendly or sad - portraying the emotion I want to when I write it. So poems are mostly based on my emotion rather than anything else.
Term papers and others I have not written in a long time but those are usually professional I suppose!

This is the same thing with me. Mylot I do tend to extend my writing and be much more explanatory with my explanations. Use bigger and more descriptive terms. I tend to use it to better my writing for articles that I want to write. I see it as increasing my communications with others when I am explaining things.
But this particular discussion is on the actual penmanship of my pen when writing different things. Or in different states of mind.

Oh sorry for the confusion. I see what you mean. I do that also. I will have different penmanship when I am upset or if I am happy. When I am relaxed it is usually bigger letters. There are a lot of different ways that my writing can look. Even depending if I am writing in cursive or just in print.

Yeah, that is what I was wondering. That is a good point that it looks different depending on how you feel. If I am happy mine tends to be small and very neat. Then when I am upset it is messy and some of it isnt very legable. That happens also when my mind is very busy and I am trying to write a lot.
Thanks for your response.

I also see something like that as you mentioned. But I am not sure are you discussing about the "style" of writing or handwriting style. My handwriting is certainly not a good one and in order to make it better, I try out different techniques every time I hold a pen. It makes my handwriting different all the time.
Regarding style of writing I would say that I stick to my type. I do not have versatility in me. I am a very slow learner. I am trying to gather more and more to widen my style of writing.

I guess I am aiming at both style and hand writing. With your post you have brought up the ways that others interpret things. ( that makes me think that you are not a slow learner, but a detailed learner, which can make others "think" that you are slower). I think that the style of my writing does depend on what I am writing. And then it in turn creates the penmanship that I use. But its not planned its automatic.
