It is my first time to take the position of president of the parents and Teachers Association in my kid's school. I do not know what to do. How will I start is the question that keeps boggling me. Will I be able to perform such job when I am a busy working mother. What do you think? Anyways, what are the usual duties of the president in a Parent And Teachers Association?

That's one thing we want to avoid in parents-teachers meeting. We don't want to be that involved in school. Its enough that we attend meetings to know updates and contribute when needed and attend school events to show support.
I guess you'd have to initiate school projects like improvement of any part of the school, like the library for example. When I was in grade school, I always wanted a bigger library with more books to read during free time.

Thanks for the information jurea. Initiating school projects! Gosh, that is going to be hard because it is something about money again. That mean we should have funds. Well, I do not know if there is some amount on hand as their previous funds. I guess, I have to start thinking about fundraising project first..Jejeje.

That's a good idea. Have some fundraising activities to support your projects, instead of soliciting money from the parents.
How about initiating a garage sale!
Have the kids bring old stuff from home, that they don't use anymore, and donate it to the fundraising event. All proceeds go to the project funds.

Thanks my dear friend. That is a great motivation. For now only my mind is in it. My heart seems away from it yet.
