Ice creams...it brings in a lot of cheer and likes for most people. Children just love them; the young and the old just crave for it. It is unfortunate for the lot who are forbidden from enjoying the sweetness of rich and creamy desserts on account of their being detected to be diabetics. Isn't it awful for anyone to be denied the privilege of relishing this sweet delight..to hell with diabetes condition.

Diabetes is such an awful disease and I truly do feel bad for individuals that suffer from this disease, especially children that have to go through their lives with this terrible disease. I couldn't begin to imagine what it would be like to have to never be allowed to enjoy ice cream or candy. Really I think that candy would be even worse because there are so many different holidays that are synonymous with candy and I don't know how children that aren't allowed to have candy make it through Valentine's Day and Easter especially.

Although I do not approve of artificial sweeteners, there are some sugar substitutes which a low glycemic so that diabetics might be able to enjoy them in moderation without harm. One of them, called xylitol (which is chemically similar to birch sugar, a very natural substance), is not only low glycemic, but has a wealth of healthy qualities, including discouraging tooth decay. I also think it tastes better than sugar.

Try the low sugar, low calorie ice cream. My cousin has this condition that he regularly check his blood level everyday. But he try to find ways to enjoy the sweetness of ice cream in those low sugar products in the market. Stay healthy.

the sweetness totally kills me! My favourite these days is frozen yogurt. I think I can eat that every day but it's expensive. These days, there is even less-sugar ice cream to cater those who can't eat too much sugar. bless those who created them XD

There are ice cream out there that is low in sugar and fat free. Of course it may not the be cavity giving type of sweet ice cream. But it can give people suffering from diabetes a simple sweet treat that they can enjoy too.
