What is better LCD or Plasma?

Which one of the above is better and can i know the difference between these two. And which do you prefer??

i prefer lcd because lcd has a better consumption and can save more on electricity while in plasma it doesn't save much electricity if you use it. but still, i guess they don't have any differences when watching some shows on them except for the electricity consumption.

I really don't know the difference but have always been told tht LCD is 100 percent better then Plasma. You can tell this by the prices in the store. Plasma TV's are so much cheaper then the LCD TV's.
