Today I received an email from a friend. I usually don´t saen chains of any king, but I opened this one because it named fist my beloved Bee Gees. Then, there came other names. It seemed that someone had place in Youtube a meddley of awesome dancers (movie stars of other times) to the sound of Staying alive.
I want to share this with you. What do you think? I loved it

I´d say, as dancing goes, they were the best. I already expresed my thoughrts about the Bee Gees, always alive in our memory.

I don't care that much for old movies, but music is another story. The Bee Gees were one of the first groups that I liked and I was a teenager during their "reign". I liked the music and the song on that video was one of my favorites at the time. I hardly ever hear them any more, but when I do it gives me a good feeling. They sure don't make music like they used to, but many of today's kids do like some of the music that I do...as long it is done by artists they are familiar with rather than the originals. Thanks for sharing!

Yes and that song said it all! We should make that our theme song! It just seemed to make me feel like staying alive! I should save that link and listen to it often. Have a great weekend!!!

Just today I was watching at the TV a special about Shirley McLaine. I thought about this post and remembered many wonderful movies that I have seen throughout the years. We forget about bad movies and about those that leave us nothing to think about. But there are some tha were important for me and even opened new paths of thinking, as books usually do. The clip I pasted is not the case, of course, as it´s dancing. But the Bee Gees were something else.

Is Rita Hayworth the woman in the video, but, I am not sure, I think that they confuse her with Ginge Rogers in some scenes, they were very much alike, beautiful they both, here, in the peak of their careers.

I´m glad you did. Even though most of the movie stars are older than us and were performing maybe when our mothers were young, they all made history in movies, as the Bee Gees did in music.

Did you watch the link? No Travolta there, but oldies dancing a lot better than him. Fred Astaire, Rita Hayworth,Ginger Rogers,Cyd Charisse, Gene Kelly, Carmen Miranda and so many others from a long time ago: they are immortal.

Old movies are just like gold movies to me. In my boyhood I would watch all movies like about kings and kingdom filled with fantacies and imaginery stories. I stil missing them and stil feel kinda nostalgic. Im trying to collect copies of those movies.

The clip I enclosed was mostly about how someone did a copy-paste of dances from movies maybe 60 years old of great dancers whose movements went along with the musicof the Bee Gees, an awesome musical group that persormed a lot later. The video is very interesting and shows how several moments in movie story can be mixed.

Old movies always have its unique importance. Even though the technology is not developed in that days, old movies have the ability to catch a lot of visitors with its story and good songs. I am a great fan of old movies and watch some old films while getting time.
Now a days remaking the old movie is quite common and lot of persons are interested in this kind of remake, since some persons are not interested in seeing the old movie and this kind of person will see the remix movie and have fun and enjoyment with them. We can watch a lot of old movies in online sites.
While watching the Old movies we come to know about the old trend and the living style of the people at that time. They have the ability to give coolness to us and provide us the necessary peace of mind. Old movie is the best way to know about the ancient things and old culture. Also old movies have a great story with nice rhythms and lyrics, we forget about our problems while listening the cute songs for the good old movies.

Recently a Tamil language historical movie named "Karnan", was made digital and released. It is running packed houses. It is Mahabharatha story and the way it was picturised, the best actors' acting, the lovely songs are liked even now by the youngsters. So I feel if the movie is good and can catch to present times too, why not watch a movie?

I´m glad you li8ked it. Even though most of those movie stars were a lot before my time, I can enjoy a good dance. And the person that put it all together did a very good job. I am a fan of the Bee Gees and this gave me a new insight into their music.

oh friend, that was really very entertaining and funny! Rita Hayworth would give John Travolta a run for he's money, looks like some kind Broadway musical or something and very much all American, actually in most of the clips i think or noticed they were " tap dancing" , just learned that " Stayin alive" could be good tap dance music, yeah bee gees, awsome !

I loved it so much when my friend sent it to me, that I just knew I must share it with you. Tap dancing was way before my time, but this mixture turned it into a much modern dance and gave it another meaning, at least for me.

Hi my friend, This reminds me of an old friend, as I was just watching an old movie to remember her by. It really takes me back to a peaceful time and place. There are also many songs that do the same for me. I try not to wacth them too often, as it takes away from the meaning; something to be watched rarely, but in good time. Once or twice a year, I view them to bring back the good times, but never forgetting them as well. Music is timeless for me, as it recreates the memories from yesterday! I also like to read past poems to remember my loved ones and friends I have lost contact with, as I was an early writer at the age of 9. To me, these are special moments that leave me feeling greatful for life and the ones in it! Thanks for a great discussion!

I´m glad you liked my post, Jen. I am a writer in my native language but mylot is an important part of my social like, now that I live alone.
One of my friends sent me this video to me and I had to share it with all of you. It gave me a new insight to a type of dancing that was way before my time, along with the music of the Bee Gees, which I love. I love music and it, too, recreates a part of my past. Take care!

Honestly, old movies don't catch my attention that much. Old movies for me are those during the 80's and older.
