Would you make fun of a mentally challenged person?

His name is Noli. He had 3 kids and came from a well off family. An incident happens that causes him to suffer from a mental breakdown. Though he was sent by his family to a hospital but the treatment does not help him until he roams and prefer to be in the streets than on their own house. His family tried to get him back but he always returns to the streets. Even though he is in that state where he never took a bath, does not change his clothes but he never asks money from anybody. Instead he would ask you to give him anything he can do in exchange for a Php20.00. He wouldn't accept anything from you if you did not give him a task to do. Anything would do like ask him to remove the weeds, have him clean your back yard or even throw your garbage as long as he have something to do in exchange of money to buy his food. One day he was asked to get some water from a nearby house which sells water, me and some of my colleagues happens to be there also to have some coffee. I saw some people laughing at him (well what do you expect to see in a torn pants and shirt that he has on). Some even making fun at him pointing the one that is shown. One even took his pail and hide it, making him cry because he cannot find it. He is afraid that the owner would be angry at him and would not pay. I called that persons attention but he does not seem to care.

I think that is awful! The parents of those people should be so ashamed. Something my Mother always used to say to me is 'treat others as you wish to be treated yourself'. It is something I always tell my children too. What small minds those people must have to laugh at someone else's misfortune.

I would never. That's just pushing it too far.
