I love drinking fresh cold water on a hot day.. especially when you're just done exercising and you're so sweaty.. But anyway, I was wondering... does water have taste? I mean I sometimes find it yummier than other soft drinks.. Or maybe it's just the feeling? IDK.. Please comment below what you think.. :D

Well, technically water is colorless, odorless, and tasteless but if you imagine then maybe.

I like drinking water, too. Water basically taste plain, but it depends on where the water comes from. Though it is tap water, it will taste different if the source of water is different. If the source of water is from mountain, it will taste fresher. If the source of water is from the sea, it will taste a bit salty. I experienced it, lol..

Pure water has no taste, but I doubt someone gets to drink pure water. Freshwater, either filtered from rivers or lake for public distribution, or pumped from wells, straight from the aquifers, contains a small amount of salts. Take a look at the kettle or the pots you boil water in. Don't they have a thin white or yellowish coating? That's calcium carbonate deposited from the evaporated water. The main salts found in drinkable freshwater are calcium and magnesium carbonates. The different amount of these salts gives the water some kind of taste. If we're talking about bottled water, it should say on the label what chemical elements or compounds are dissolved in that water. It is these compounds that give the water taste.

I think God didn't give any taste to the water so that we can satisfy our thirst whenever we feel it. Also, we need a drink that would neutralize our taste especially when we eat sweet, salty, bitter, or hot food and that is WATER. I like drinking it a bit hot than cold. hehe..

Pure water has no taste. However, when you are hot or dehydrated it can be very refreshing and because it's going over your tongue you could perceive a delicious taste. Also, impurities in the water can cause it to have a taste. Chemicals, minerals, sediments, etc can give it a flavor, order, or a slight color.

They say water doesn't have a taste but sometimes I think it does I get the Purdue's water from Walmart so in so used to drinking that water then when I buy another brand to me it has a different taste then when I drink from my faucet at which I rarely do that has a different taste also has a different taste so maybe water does have a taste just a little taste nothing major like soda or juice but I can tell the difference between waters all water doesnt taste the same so therefore it hard to believe that water does have taste :-) I think.

Yes water does have a taste. I think that pure well water tastes much better than city water. But it also depends on where you are getting the water. I have lived in several parts of the country and the water is different in the western part of the country from the eastern part. some water tastes like iron. Some is very good. I would rather drink water than any thing else.

I have found water in my area and my grandmother's area tasting different. They get water from the tube well so I figure that is the reason for the difference. I cannot drink the water there so I will always carry my own bottle of water from home. Also, mineral water has a particular taste which I like because of the thought in mind that it is something pure that I am drinking. At home too we have water from the filter.
