Do u ever see the ladies on tv such as robin on headline news, robin on good morning america, The ladies of the view & others ever wear the same outfit?I have been wondering that for awhile,. I wonder what they do with their clothes after they wear them once, how they afford to buy something new to wear all the time & just alot of questions. I know they all make good money, no telling what whoopi & barbara walters are worth. Whoopi really acts like she vould care less what she wears & some of the get-ups she has on i wonder who dreeses her, lol. Does anyone have any answers for my inquisitive mind?

Wow, that is quite a response there from #1! Love your answer.
I was coming to tell you that I thought maybe they had a wardrobe kept on the set for them but wasn't quite sure. I do wonder though what they do with the dresses when they're done wearing them. Wish I could find some of them at the thrift store, LOL!!

HaHa, that's why I said "some of them" in the thrift stores, lol! I know what you mean.
I'm not sure, but I would THINK? that they can chose what they want to wear out of the wardrobe, which is probably huge on the set there. They most likely pick them out well in advance in case of alternations..but I'm guessing. I know I sure wouldn't want someone telling me to wear a particular dress if it's not my style. Although, some of the fashion shows completely change a persons wardrobe and they look fantastic.
I know my daughters always want me to wear stuff that I feel is too young for me, but they like it on me..go figure.

Vanna White talked about her wardrobe one time. Yes, the clothes are selected and paid for by the studio, but in her case, she said she would come in at the beginning of filming a week and would have lots of choices to try and she could pick from among what was offered according to what she liked and sometimes according to the themes of the shows or the locations. Must be nice, huh?

Yes I have the same questions dear. How could they ever afford to wear new clothes all the time? Would not all their earnings go to clothes if they buy that much clothes? Well I was told that big stars are mostly endorses of different clothes lines so they don't really buy all the clothes they wear. Most of their clothes are actually provided by their Sponsors.

This is one of the things I was told when I was a kid that haunted my dreams---that TV personalities never wear the same outfit twice. In my little girl's head I imagine closets as big as warehouses! While most people might dream to have so many clothes, I was horrified at the ridiculous number of possessions celebrities have. Anyway, as what has been previously mentioned, some clothes are sponsored, so these TV personalities often say things like "Thanks to blah-blah-blah for my outfit." At least the celebrities here in my country do. They also thank a great number of service providers like hairstylists, dentists, and dermatologists.

Heheheh...actually you already got the answer from #1. Glad you get it now. (Muahahahaha) I have ever watched this serials but I forgot the title. This serials show how designers supply (I don't know what's the better word, lol) the wardrobe for those people on TV. The designers in my country will use this kind of moment to show up their work, so sometimes even I think that those actresses, actors, or even the news people dress a little too much for a simple show. Can you imagine how the host put on a quite thick make up and a fancy dress for a charity program??? That's just a really nice ironic.

oh that is simple. My husband was working for a media company and we used to live in film city and we had lot of friends in this industry. So this is how it works. All tv shows are scripted and there is director, camera man and same way they have dress designers who according to the script pick and make dresses for the actors. So, those clothes that they wear is not theirs. It is the property of the production house.
Did you get it now??

I believe it's the show themselves that actually pays good money for these women to have their makeup, hair and wardrobe taken care of. I would imagine that these women come to work in whatever clothes they feel like wearing, they are probably there atleast 2 hours before show time to be done up. I have to wonder if they have ever tried to get Whoopi to dress up and maybe she has refused? Maybe they like that the women have such different styles from each other, helps them to relate to the viewers at home on a more diverse level.

Well no doubt they will get extra money to get their outfits if it is required that they have to wear a different outfit every time then they will be entitled to uniform money or the other way is they can claim it back on their taxes
As for what they do after I am not to sure maybe they just hire the outfits I am not to sure at all lol

Sometimes clothes that well known people wear are given to charity. Other times, even on our local news level, the clothes are provided to wear by stores and manufacturers in exchange for getting a line in the credits. Same with makeup, and hair styles. So the credits will read something like Ms. Smith's clothes were provided by "Designer Label", Hair designs courtesy of "Well known salon" and the makeup she was wearing was from the "Daylight Collection by so and so". It is cheaper for companies to provide goods and services for a mention than for them to actually buy the advertizing time on those shows. The more famous the person the nicer the things that get furnished, too.

do they get their clothes from a company that pays them to wear their clothing? who knows, there may be this warehouse full of clothes that have been bought for occasions like the View or Kathy Lee and whomever or even TLC's What Not To Wearand then they just recycle the clothes or maybe donate them to charity.
i don't know but it is an interesting question.

Hi Jo! I've always said I'd love to make the money that those people make in ONE day! Just ONE day! Oh what I'd do with all that money! So many people that I could help! But that's only a pipe dream and it'll always be a pipe dream. Instead, these people take the money and put it in some bank account to sit in while so many others suffer. Sad thing isn't it?

I've seen women on our local TV news stations wear the same outfit more than once. They buy classics that can be dressed up or down. I really don't pay any attention to the clothing worn by women on national TV, unless it is outlandish.

No..I have never seen any of them wear the same outfits. I don't know if they are donated to the show for some designers or if they just buy new stuff for them all the time. I have heard new and upcoming designers will try and get people to wear their stuff so others will see it and want it. I am not sure if that is the case with the news ladies though.

I don't think that those clothes are theirs, I think they belong to either the show or the production agency. I still am not sure what happens to the clothes after they wear them. I dont think they get to keep them they might get to if they pay for them.

I respect your "inquiring" ("Enquiring")mind and your discussion is interesting.
However, I do not respect the mainstream media, most especially the "ladies" of The View and their motley, self-absorbed opinions.
Barbara Walters used to dress really nicely. I even once thought she may have been a passable "journalist/reporter".
But, no such luck anymore. Her ridiculous "me, me, me" and what I think turns even the very expensive clothes ugly. Even Elizabeth Hasselbeck is compromised re speaking anything worthy.
Make no mistake, they make enormous amounts of money and can afford to dispose of their "used clothing" any way they choose, plus, I'm sure at least a portion of their wardrobe is tax deductible.
These cackling hens are among the .25% or less, and they fawn over the even more wealthy Barry Soetoro (aka BHO), asking him hardball questions like, "Are you a good dancer?". At the same time any conservative thinker is mocked and asked ridiculous questions, none of them newsworthy either.
These women are blessed beyond belief by God and our Constitution,( remember, Freedom of Speech applies only to liberals in our once free nation) yet in all they do, they mock the principles this country is based upon and play "political correctness" games, especially Whoopie who, I understand has a very wonderful toilet and Joy Behar. Both of them have "toilet mouths", point being that no matter the clothing an ungrateful, self-absorbed attitude is NEVER in fashion among people of character.
As to the two Robins, I have never watched either or seen their attire, so I can't comment.

Thanks for responding & for your opinions. I use to watch the view every day but got sort of tired of them so now i'm watching the price is right, lol.I don't really care for walters & got tired of her ways. If she put her hand up to me like she does everybody on their i would have to say something to her. She is very self centered. I really got where i didn't enjoy any of them I think joy is just a smart aleck. I like the 2 robins, i like to watch the news alot anyway. Hope u have a good weekend.
