What are you views on Chick-fil-A?

I have had a ton of friends debating on the whole Chick-fil-A controversy lately and was interested on your thoughts here. Were Dan Cathy's statements political suicide or completely within the rights of any CEO of a major corporation? And along those same lines, what do you feel is "proper" conduct for officials of corporations who are very much in the public?
