I don't think I've tasted many desserts more delicious than a blueberry cheesecake. I first tasted it when I was a child, on a bright and beautiful summer day. We were at the beach, celebrating a birthday of my parents' friends. There was a lot of food laid out on the table, from barbecues and salads to pastry, but the think that caught my attention was this: the prettiest cake i had ever seen in all my short life, sitting at the center of the table like a queen. It was all ruffles and laces, all blue and white and cream, and on the center, just at the top, sat a bright, bright red cherry. We ate the other foods like the meats and salads. All of them were delicious, but I could not wait to taste the pretty cake. Finally, after we sang a song for the birthday celebrant, the time came to slice the cake! I watched excitedly as the knife went evenly through the soft layers of blue and white...I watched, holding my breath every second... Then a slice was handed out to me! Excitedly, I took my fork and plunged it into the flowery depths of the slice. Excitedly, I drew it to my mouth to taste...and my mind exploded! It was the best I had ever tasted in my life, an exquisite blend of sweet crust, rough and broken and crumbly; thick, cream, melting in my mouth; creamy cheese, soft and moist; and blueberries with their warm, sweet sauce...For a treat, I was also given the bright, bright red cherry as a finale.

What is it about adding fruit to something that is supposed to make it better I don't get it. I feel like the only one that can not stand cutting into a cake or something and there is just a layer of fruit.

Well, it's a blueberry cheesecake. Of course there's supposed to be some fruit in it. Otherwise, it'd just be a cheesecake.
