I have had lots of incidents where people say that I sound like a baby on the phone. One day my friend called me from FIJI and I answered. She said " baby please give the phone to pops" I said It is me Pops. And she said she though it was a baby who answered the phone.
Another time my husband friend calls and I answered the phone and he goes " baby please give the phone to your uncle" hahahha and I said " I am his wife on the phone" then when he was talking to my husband , they laughed about it.
This has happened so many times. I don't know I am suppose to feel. I am blank.
When I was in University Of The South Pacific back at home, I used to be in a band, I used to sing. So one time there was a national competition and I was one of the 10 contestants. To promote the show we had interviews on the radio and said some one liners for the Advertisement to come on air. Then this Radio Jokey or announcer said to me. My voice on the air was like a kids voice.
It is true, since I have experienced it so many times. Now you tell me, how am I suppose to react to this. I just laugh when I get those comments.

You have the correct response! Nothing you can do but laugh it off. I wonder if voice lesson could get you to change your every day voice?

Honestly, I don't like the sound of my voice over the phone.
It sounds too small, I mean like a kid as well.
So, I need to learn some modulation to make it sounds bigger especially when I am working at the call center (my previous job)
Just ignore them, it's better to sound like a baby than an old lady :P

My cousin has had the same experience and he seems to laugh when people say things about his voice. To be honest he sounds like our grandmother on the phone AND in real life. People mistake his voice for a woman's every time he is on the phone. When he calls someone and says who it is the person says "I don't know any girls by the name of Joey". He just laughs at it and sometimes gets very defensive BUT mostly just laughs.

I will say that its a uniqe gift you have. Your voice become your signature wherever you go, people will remember you and always talking about you. Don't mad or feel bad if people make joke out of your voice, you can joke them back and they will know trhat you are have humble personality and very kind hearted. There many people with uniqe voice like you have, they made money out of their uniqely for example as dubber for some movies. So be proud of yourself for the voice.
