since you cannot control it, it just drops like an uncorked bottle.. and it's worse when i try to bend my head forward and write something. and it makes the skin hurt a bit too. I hope this goes away soon, i m drinking lots of water and herbs now, also medicine.. what other methods can you suggest?

Runny nose~
Oh, it really gave me a few weeks ago. I took more than a week to get back to normal. I dislike to take any pills so I just let it be like that but it really made my bad days. Like you said it's getting worst when we try to bend the head forward..(^^)

I am going through the same situation as i am typing this response to your discussion.Since yesterday i have been hit by the common cold and today both my eyes and nose are running like tap water. My eyes already feel sore and are extremely watery. My nose is running whether i am sitting straight or bent forward. My handkerchief is already damp by constantly wiping my eyes and blowing my nose and soon i will have to get another one. I don`t do anything except apply Vicks Vaporub when i am sleeping.Usually the runny eyes and nose stop after a couple of days.Having a cold once in a while is good since it helps in removing the congestion from the body.Best thing is drink a lot of water and leave everything to Nature. The cold generally disappears after 2 or 3 days.If it prolongs then consult the doctor.

It's horrible, I have a runny nose all the time in the winter! I usually drink hot drinks like tea, chamomile etc with honey in them, and I feel a bit relieved. Also, I take vitamine C or drink a lot of natural orange juice that I prepare myself. Vitamine C is good for colds because it prevents the strong symptoms.
Vicks is very good, especially at night. I put some under my nose and breathe it all night so my nose isn't stuffed when I wake up. And there are some special sprays that open the nose and reduce the symptoms of the runny nose. A nice thick nourishing lotion will also help your dry skin around the nose!

Why don't you take antihistamines? It will control your running nose and relieve your symptoms.
For how many days you are suffering from it? If it is less than a week, then, it may be due to viral infections and will self limit. Otherwise it may be due to other infections for which you may need to consult a doctor.
Drinking lots of water is a very good thing, keeps you free from dehydration.
Pain during bending your head means, the discharge has entered the sinuses in your head. You also may develop acute sinusitis due to the infection.
However, an antihistamine is enough for simple running nose.
