How do you water your garden?

I use several different methods for watering my garden. I use a hose with a sprinkler attachment for really hot days. This way everything is guaranteed a good amount of water. I also use a drip system for just a few of my larger plants like zucchini and cucumbers. Then I also bury a bucket with holes in it at the bottom. This allows the roots of the trees and plants to get plenty of water. I can also add fertilizer to the buckets and it will slowly seep out to the roots. So how do you prefer to water your plants and why?

It much depends on the time of the year. During Summer I water it with a hose everyday (the grass) and do a deep watering on shrubs each 2 or 3 days as our summers are dry. But in Winter I only water my plants in containers and my raised beds where I have planted winter veggies. The grass turns sort of dry whether I water it or not, so I save that water.

The reason that your grass might be turning brown in the winter is that it is an annual plant. It will die back in the winter months but come back again in the spring. It basically reseeds itself and starts to grow again when it warms up. There are a few types of grass that will grow and stay green in the winter. A couple of types of seed to try are bluegrass or rye grass.

I water it via a hose if it doesn't rain enough throughout the week, as we don't have the sprinkler set up and such here anymore. If I have to do it daily it gets to be a pain cause the mosquitoes are out moreso in the evening too and I have to go out in long sleeves and long pants to protect myself from their bites. Otherwise it's fine to water them. My brother does it here too but usually only his gardens, and not mine. When I did them last year and many years prior I watered them all even his stuff.

I've been fishing and camping before where there was a lot of mosquitoes. I wouldn't be to happy if I had to stand out and water my garden with them. All I have to deal with is flies that chase after me.

Orchid plant - Orchid needs generous supply of water and regular cleaning of leaves.
I use hose in watering my plants. I think this the most convenient way and also the most generous way of watering the plants. It does not just water but even cleanse the entire plant. I think cleaning the leaves of the plants is a must because it is from their leaves that they breathe. This is the reason why I use hose, it makes it easier for me to clean the leaves with a hose.

Well i prefer using a water pipe and spreading water on the plants directly. This will help them get excess water if they are deprived off during the summers. i personally do this and it gives me immense pleasure.

I agree with you, taking the time to water my plants is relaxing. I think it takes the stress out of the day to do something that makes you stay in one spot. I just personally don't have as much time to do it as I'd like to.
