my helper is planning to share internet connection with a neighbor. actually we plan this before when computer internet connection was more expensive and not readily available. but now it is cheaper that we don't need to do that. but in her place it is far away from the city that internet connection is not that available as it is in the city. so she plan to share internet connection with the neighbor because the internet plan i have been using is not available in her place. what available to her place is the more expensive one. she lives out of the city.

hi hotsummer! when i am in my mother's place we also do that but i am giving money to compensate with my usage , i feel very happy because i have a wifi. there is not problem in sharing internet connection with a neighbor as long as the neighbor will pay , and you should have an equality of usage :)

indeed it is much cheap when you just share connection as long as the other had a fast connection and good wifi router.

yes you should put a password to your wifi so that you will have a good connection and also you should know how many lap top or computer will use the connection.

Hope there is no data usage limit on the plan they are using, may lead to disputes later if there is one.

As long as the neighbor doesn't mind and she continues to pay for her half, I don't see a problem with it. It'd be nicer if we could all do that, this way it'd be cheaper on us all around. Of course a good connection will cost around $50 here, which isn't all that bad... It's the bundling that gets us Americans!

it cost about $25 if you pay it alone, so they would be at least 3 neighbors that would be sharing one connection. but the problem there is a small street separating her house from her neighbors. although it is not that far away. but i wonder how they would go around the cables to get across the other side of the street. i don't think wifi connection will be enough. maybe it will. but i don't know if they will use cable or wifi.

why don't she try wireless internet as we are using for years. besides being portable that you can bring along when you get out or move from places, it's more cheaper (at least here) and more convenient.
