There are a lot of people out there who really do like to save. I have a very hard time saving. As I often want to buy things right away and take the short benefits of having money on hand. I'm working on it. I think once I start to improve I will really enjoy the bigger things that I can get and do when I'm able to save more. I will like the fact that I don't have to worry about financial emergencies coming up, and that we will be in a better position to take vacations twice a year.

yeah i love to save money. it is actually somewhat of a game for me to see how much i can save. when i go to stores and restaurants i make sure to find the cheapest things available that i need. if i dont have a certain amount of money in my bank account, then i do not feel right. i have to have money to fall back on. and i too would like to take vacations and stuff. i am not always able to save as much as i would like to though because we just recently expanded our family. now it is me, my husband and our 6 week old daughter.

thanks! and i thought i was the only one who sits around and wishes i had money from when i was younger. all the money i wasted on junk...lol. too bad. and by the way you are definately right about the diapers. we just bought a box of 216 about 2 days ago and it looks like the baby has already used like a fifth of the box lol.

Oh congratulations! That is so exciting! I'm happy for you. I hope that you and your daughter are doing well. I can understand having a little one and not being able to save that much. There are always things that a baby needs. For example diapers, you can never have enough diapers.I wish that I had appreciated saving a lot more when I was younger. But know that I know the bigger things that I can do from saving I'm happy to be able to save.

I completely agree with you. Once I find something to buy or that I would like to spend my money on then it is gone very quickly. Yeah I too wish I we could make a lot more on here. But every little bit helps I guess. It's a good thing that you leave it in your paypal account. That way it just keeps adding up. I should start doing that. I would like to be able to save up my online earnings to use for some type of trip.

I like saving for big things and also saving for emergencies. I am not an impulse spender but I am a panic spender. What happens I say I am going to save and buy something, lets say, in September, but then some one of my friends suggested maybe you should put something towards or get something and I start to think maybe she or they do not want me to buy what I intended to buy, so I go and buy it right away because it would be a bother to return it.
And because I needed it now, but was trying to see how long I could take to keep from buying it.
So right now I am saving for that six month emergency, plus for house repairs because I had to spend the money on the basement on income tax and have to replace it. I tend to keep the monies separate to avoid the "you can use the money you put aside for the Cuisinart to pay for the basement insulation instead," suggestion.

Yeah I agree it is definitely a good idea to save for emergencies. I'm working on getting our emergency fund up there as well. There is often times something that comes up and it would be nice to actually be prepared for it. It is often said that we should have 3-6 months of living expenses set aside for our emergency fund. It seems though every time I try and set some aside we end up having to spend it. Like right now we need four new tires and I would like to set that money aside but we are going to have to get tires. There just never seems to be enough money coming in.

I don't enjoy saving money, I have to. I totally would prefer to spend my money in the things that I like right away, but you need to put some goals and to achieve that, unfortunately, you need to save more money.

Yeah it is important for us to be able to spend less than we earn. That can be very difficult especially when we feel that we do not earn a lot. It is a continous work in progress for me.Sometimes I do well and then other times not so good. Right now I feel that everything is against my saving. We need so many things done that I'm sure every penny I try to save will be gone in no time. I will continue to work at it though.

Yes I do enjoy saving up some money. But the problem is that right now I cannot do that because of a lot of expenses.

I completely understand. Right now we are getting ready to move to a new place in September. So any money that I would normally be able to have to myself has to go towards the move. It is definitely hard to save when there are so many expenses and not enough money coming in.

Yeap right. I actually wanted to buy some stuff but couldn't do at the moment. I wanted to invest my money too but couldn't do as well. Hopefully we get to have more money so we can easily do the plans we have.

do you enjoy saving your money? for me is yes, but sometimes or most of the time if i don't have money i get my money in the coin bank, but we need to save money when we get old and in case of emergencies, and its happy to see your saving is growing in the bank, or in other financial intutions, its better to have money than nothing, remember money talks. and if you have money you can do anything. even killing people you can do it. if you want to. thank you

Yeah it's a good thing to have savings. It does help reduce the amount of stress we have when emergencies come up. Yeah I agree with you. When we have money it helps a great deal with being able to get things done.

I very much like the idea of saving money, it would give me better security for my future that's for sure. I'm not very good at saving money though, I like to shop and I also seem to have difficulty at keeping track of where my money goes. When you add up shopping, rent, bills, restaurants, etc, it doesn't take long to over spend. One positive, is that I'm not in debt so I suppose that means something, I could be worse off.

I completely understand what you are saying. I do things the same way. I enjoy shopping. I always seem to find something I would like to buy. I can never have enough pens. But I'm trying to remind myself that I would like to be able to take a vacation, as well as have enough money to support myself on my own. In order to be able to do that I would have to save instead of spend. I also love to eat and prefer to eat out, less dishes, etc.

I also enjoy saving money but the problem is, i don't have any money to save at all lol why? it's just because all the money that i should be able to save always goes for the needs of our 1 year old son. He's our first priority so it's ok if i wouldn't be able to save some money as long as he's healthy and in good condition

Yeah I understand what you mean. I would like to save a lot more money. But right now we are in the process of moving and all my extra money has to go to that. It would be nice if I could use my money to save for something better. I agree with you it's important that our children are healthy and have everything that they need.I have a daughter who is 15 months. I'm thankful that she has everything that she needs and that we are able to provide for her and still save a little.

It is good to put money away for a rainy day. We never know what things may start to happen. I too wish I could save a lot more or that I had less bills for my money to have to go too. In September we will be moving. It would have been nice to use that money for other things. Instead though we have to spend a lot of money just to move into one place. It is such a bummer.

Hi Dominique25,
Saving money is a habit that one needs to inculcate early in life. Once the habit of saving or spending money is formed it will be hard to change. However, it is difficult to draw a line between saving and spending money. Too much of saving may lead to stingyness and too much spending will result in being spendthrift. Both extremes are bad. What is excessive to one may not be enough for another. I guess it depends on what you want and you need to work towards it with lots of discipline. Have a nice day.

I agree with you. I wish that I would have appreciated this habit a lot earlier. It would have helped me a great deal more. You make a lot of good points. It definitely does depend on the person and what is important to them as individuals. I would like to do better on saving but it will take more discipline for me.

Hi
I love saving money because it's useful especially for emergencies coming up. My mother taught me how to save money since when I was young. In my case, the day I received my paycheck I have to get the right amount for saving immediately. Their is a tendency that if I'm going to spend before saving I will lost a big amount without thinking there is no extra money to save..:)

I completely agree with you. I'm starting to learn and appreciate this more and more. It is nice to have a good chunk of savings for those emergencies that often come up all at the same time. It is definitely a good idea to put the savings away ahead of time.

to be honest, i don't like saving money. i think if you have money, the best way is take it to buy what you want. if you want to something but you don't have enough money to buy it. i think the better way is to earn money money until you are able to buy what you want. of course, you should earn some money becuase you don't konw what will happen tomorrow, so you must save enough money in order to deal with some problem, like illness or accident.

Yeah I agree with you. It's a good idea to have money saved for emergencies. We have to build our savings again. We spent money on getting our car fixed and going on a weekend trip. Now it's time to start saving our money. I also like the idea of working to make more money. It's nice to be able to have another source of income.

I agree with you. It is important for our future to save. I have always appreciated how simple I try to keep my life and that I don't need a lot of material things or have to own a home. I would however like to be able to support myself financially. I don't want to have to depend on anyone financially. I just want to be able to take care of myself. I would be in a better position to do that if I continue to save as well as bring in more money.

Yeah those are good things. We never know when an emergency will come up and we will need the finances to take care of everything. It helps a great deal to have savings. I look forward to saving. I would like to have money saved up for emergencies and for a vacation. We had some money for those two things and then we got our vehicle worked on and took a vacation. Now we have to start building that back up. It will be nice to see the savings grow.

I do have a habit of saving money, I save a quite an amount when I was young in ten years but my father took it away, now I do not save anymore because I am scared that the money I save will be used up soon, however I do have savings in my employee's provident fund, a money contribute by me and from boss every month. There is about ten thousand there since I started save in 2001.

I'm glad to hear that you have a habit of saving. It awesome to be able to save a lot of money. I'm sorry to hear that you saved a lot of money and then your father took it away. That happen to me once when I was little. I'm not sure exactly how much I saved but I had a big piggy bank and then my mom took the money out of it and used it. It would have been nice if later they would have given us the money back that they used. That is great that you have ten thousand in that account. Keep saving you will be happy to have it when you need it.

I find saving as pleasurable as spending. It sounds a bit weird, I know, but I really do. I like seeing my savings increase. I even have a ledger to monitor my finances. It pleases me when I hit my targets. And then I spend some of those money (which I've really allotted for), and this gives me the same pleasure :)

No, I can understand what you are saying. Because when I saved up a lot of change and took it in I was happy with how much I had. It all does add up. It's nice to see it reach big amounts. It can be really fun to save. I just have to keep my mind too it and not spend it on food all the time. I love to eat good food.

Saving is good for the future. But as life has become too hard it is really difficult to save. Everything has become expensive, specially food and clothes. We have to pay electricity bill, telephone bill and water bill, buy groceries and keep money for everyday expenses. It is really hard to save these days.

I agree with you. It is good for us to save and do our best to be prepared for the future. I'm trying to work on saving now so that we will be able to move and get another place. Moving is so expensive. It can be stressful knowing how expensive it is to move into a new place.
We will hopefully be in our new place September 1st. I agree it is very hard to save money. We were setting some aside and then we got our electric bill. It was so expensive from the weather being so hot and having all the things going in our home. It was a lot higher than what we are use to. So now that money we had set aside basically will only be going to our electric bill.

Yeah I understand what you mean. I would love to be able to save up for a cruise. So that is something I plan to work on once we move into our new place and get settled in. I know I can save a lot more if I avoid fast food places, and coffee shops, and Amazon .

Yeah saving can be fun. I hope that your business will work out the way you want it to. It does make us happy when we can make more money and save it instead of spending it. I will have to continue to work on this. Sometimes I get side tracted and start buying food while I'm out.Which that often adds up to a lot of money that I could have saved. Like right now I feel like eating chinese food .

Every little amount we save each day can contribute to our savings and before we know it, the amount would be big enough to be used to buy the things we want. Every little things count. I opened an account using passbook so I can not withdraw the money anytime that I want. This really helps.

I will have to look into that. I agree every little bit helps. And when we are able to save up a lot we can feel proud and know that we can use our earnings for something bigger for ourselves or our family. Thanks for the suggestion about passbook.
