Pranab mukerjee became the 13th president of India.
I am sure that he can perform well in this position than our former President Pratiba Patil.
Hope that Pranabji will not spend money uselessly for foreign tours.
Pranab is an experienced politician and good trouble shooter. I think he will use his experience and capability the good of our nation.
But I personally believes that politician should not become President. It would have been good if someone else from some other field becomes President.
And if Pranab has not become President, he had a good chance to become the Prime minister if UPA wins next time. But Soniaji tactically avoided Pranab from the competition of Prime minister position by giving him the rubber stamp position.
Suddenly Rahul Gandhi, also say he is ready to take higher positions.so what is the meaning?
Anyway now it is up to the President from West Bengal to use the rubber stamp position effectively.

He has been trying to become the president for 30 years now. So finally he has achieved his goal. Of course, this time around it was a cakewalk with a divided opposition. Let's see whether he can play a impartial role that is required of a President of India with his strong links to Congress.
Cheers!
Ram

Hi ram_cv, how do you come to the conclusion that he has been trying for 30 years to become the president? He is a great politician not for the masses but for the party he belongs to. He might have cherished the dream to have a brilliant political career but not to become the president of India. If he has ever dreamed of it, it might be for the last few years.

Well it would be indeed expected from Pranab to script a success story for India after all India has been experiencing some hiccups in its financial development. having already having a lot of experience in politics, i hope he can use this experience and change the face of India.
What say?

Pranab mukerjee is a great player in the field of politics. Though he has no base among the grass root people and so could not win in any election and always was selected for the 'Rajya Sabha'. But it is to be admitted that he is a cool headed politician and was always a crisis manager for not only for his party but also for the country. So it is quite natural that he would perform well in his position as the President far better than our former Pratiba Patil. As you mentioned that Soniaji tactically avoided Pranab from the competition of Prime minister position by giving him the rubber stamp position, I fully agree with it. Pranab was never a choice to Sonia Gandhi for the post of Prime minister of India and so she closed door to him for ever by making him the President of the country.
