I enjoy going out to different restaurants and trying new things all the time. Do you guys like going out to eat? Do you like going to the same places or trying somewhere new? Or do you prefer to stay at home and eat, this way you know who is handling your food? Thanks for your responses in advance!

I do enjoy going out to eat every now and then but not all of the time. I don't mind trying new places but normally those me and my husband will not try a new place if we are paying. A lot of the times his grandparents know of new places in town or would like to eat at place we can't afford on our own so they will take us and treat us to a nice meal other then us making something at home. I don't mind going out to eat at places of the same thing over and over again lost as it's not day after day going that would just be annoying. Some times I just don't feel like cooking. Right now I'm on bed rest so I can't cook period so I leave that up to my husband to either cook or go and get something for us that isn't too expensive.

I can take care of myself I'm doing just fine. Bed rest doesn't mean sleep so much as just stay off your feet. So yeah I'm taking it easy like the doctor wants me too.

Sometimes I want to eat out but sometimes I don't.It depends on different situations. For me I think cooking by myself and eating at home is a happy thing.Besides eating at home can save a lot of money and we can eat more healthy. However,If we are travelling, eating out is necessary and we can try different new food all the time. That is the pleasure of travelling.

Eating out while traveling is definately the most convenient. The only downside is when traveling, I'm more likely to opt for the fast food due to time restrictions. I cook at home also but I don't really ever try new recipes so it gets a bit boring eating the same old thing all the time.

I love going out to eat, yet I go rarely because it is really expensive. So I usually just stay at home. But I love trying out new dishes and eat out at a nicer restaurant. If I can, I try out new places, but there are certain staple places I know and love :).

Sometimes I find it hard to try new restaurants, just because I'm already craving a dish that I've had at a certain restaurant and have no desire to go somewhere new. Thanks doroffee for your input.

Hello Jshean, It's good to try at different restaurants some new dishes. But if found something very delicious you definitely would like to go again to taste the same dish. As about me I like to stay at home and try to make some new recipes from internet. By this way I got two benefits first is I've learn some new thing which makes me happy and second is I never found it bad because in one go nobody can make excellent dish. Have a great day jshean.

Thanks for you input centuryblack. I wish that I had more of a desire to cook, but honestly I don't. Maybe if I tried a few recipes I could gain cooking confidence and that might drive me to cook more.

I understand that people love to eat out, and when I get my SO, he will probably love to eat out, so I'll enjoy it as well. However, food is not a big thing for me. When I am on my Facebook, I have people, that all they do is post photos of their food. I was almost going to put it in a status of how silly it was, then I decided against it, as people really are into their plates of food. I don't need much. I actually do not like to eat. I am lucky there, as I come from genetic stock where the women, if they do not watch it, can get fat. So, at my age, and what I know of my family history, I'm basically on the 'thinner' side. So not caring for food helps. However, I do like to cook. But since I do not care to eat, I do not cook. I have to have someone to cook for. But, growing up we were not allowed to eat out as kids, as my mom wanted to know everything that went into our bodies. so I was lucky there, and never developed a taste for resturant food. Even bakery goods. Everything was home made, most of our bread was as well. So, I tried to eat bakery a few times, and could not handle the taste of it. Just homemade stuff. I still cannot take the taste of over the counter bread from the food store, I buy it, but then always end up giving it to the dog, cuz the taste, for me is so bad.

I'm sure that your history of not being allowed to eat out as a kid has helped you make wise decisions with food as an adult. In reality you're not missing out on much, just think of what goes on in some of those kitchens at restaurants, right?

I eat out when I´m invited because I only like good restaurants and I don´t have the money to pay for them. I invite my friends to my house and I´m a good cook so that they repay taking me out. I don´t like fastfood at all and would rather feel hungry until I get home.

Going to good restaurants is always nice, but you get what you pay for so that can become costly. You're a good cook, does this mean you enjoy cooking as well? It's nice that your friends repay you by taking you out once in awhile, seems fair to me.

My husband and I love to travel and it goes that we also love to eat out and sample the local fare of the country or town we're in. We always order both something that we are familiar with, and something that is new to our taste.
