How's your country going?

Australia

I now it's only up to day 2 that's coming up but how has your country fairing so far? Australia is off to a good start with a gold medal in the womens 4x100 swimming. I saw the rowing yesterday and we seemed to be getting through there. Only thing that sucks is that it's only on one channel and a lot of it goes on whilst we are asleep. I stayed up til 1am but I wasn't going to stay up until 6am! If only I could live on 4 hours of sleep a night I would be alright

Well I was just watching the Aussies in the hockey and they aer not doing so good. NZ are really playing well. We need 2 goals to be on top Hopefully your country will get something but at least they are there and have worked hard to make you proud

We have a very small contingent, I think the smallest by far since my country the Philippines participated in the Olympics. (Well, I might be wrong though). We haven't competed yet. Our first one will be tomorrow, in the swimming event. I'm hoping and praying for a very good performance by our swimmer, but I'm not really that confident if he'd win over the stronger swimmers of other countries. Well, I'm just proud of my country's athletes and I'm certain they'll give it their best :)

Well at least you got some participants in this years Olympics to be proud of. Win or lose you should be proud of their achievments, they have worked so hard to be there representing the Philippines

India has started the two days really badly with a lot of hyped up sports persons falling by the wayside. The only real good news is from three genuine medal hopes for India. In boxing Vijendra Singh and Jai Bhagwan won their opening bouts. Saina Nehwal another serious medal hopeful in the women's badminton started with a win. But so far we are still sitting on a golden duck on the medals tally. Cheers! Ram

Yes, I watched the swimming when Australia won. It was a great race, and the Australians in my family were very happy, lol! You Aussies are doing really well in the swimming. Well, we missed out on the diving, but we got our first men's gymnastics medal for 100 years, which is really something! That was a bronze. We also got a silver in cycling and another bronze in swimming. Hopefully we'll get some more at some point. It's a great experience having the Olympics in your city, even if you're just watching it on TV. But we did get to see the torch as it went near our house. Plus there is the added bonus that we don't have to stay up all night to watch the events! Hope you're enjoying it and you manage to get some sleep. :)

We're not doing as well as we would like in the swimming. Our boys should have gotten a medal but came 4th, usually we are a lot better but I guess really good swimmers come in waves. We got fantastic swimmers I'm not going to dis them, they do us proud I'm acually crossing my fingers for the UK to get some gold in something, preferably nothing we are going for gold in though But I want them to do well Oh yeah it sucks here because it's all on as we sleep for the most part. It's great you get to enjoy but all the people crowded in one place and all the money that had to be spent would have sucked!

Well it has been a disappointing start by the Indian contingent. We got only disappointing news from Day 1 but we all hope that Indians would pick up the pace on Day 2 and give us some good news. But more than that it was great to see some new participants and from different countries giving a tough competition to the experienced participants. What say?

That's a shame. Hopefully they can win a few medals for you. There are a lot of countries and at least they are all pretty competitive and are giving good competition. Sometimes I get so tense watching!
