I tried to get my Children to watch the games with me and they are not interested. I remember being the same way as a child ! Now I love it, Micheal Phelps is not taken it all this year but Misty and Carrie are still hanging on to victory.

Even when I was a child the same ages as my children are right now, I really did love watching the Olympics. I thought for sure that both of them were really going to be all into watching all of the sports that were going to be coming on the television for the next two weeks. However, I find that the children are not interested in watching them with me at all, instead, I find that they are disappearing into the bedroom and watching cartoons and Food Network, as soon as I want to watch some of the Olympics, they go in the other room and watch NetFlix.

I think that it is a shame that your children aren't interested in the Olympics, but have you tried showing them a lot of the sports that are on offer? It makes sense that they might not always want to look at the sports that you enjoy, but then you might find that they enjoy watching the swimming or the gymnastics for example. It is important to try to give your children a taste of things that are happening in the world, as a lot of them don't really have a clue about what's happening, but you can't force it on them as they won't enjoy it then and they will only resent you for it.

Yes, I am trying to do the same thing with my 5 year old son. He watches for 5-10 minutes then gets bored and moves away to play with his toys. But, I can see that some things seem to be exciting him a bit like the fights. :) Cheers! Ram
