I returned to work today for my normal shift and my bosses wife was on the desk when I got there and boy was she in a mood. I have stayed in my apartment for a couple of days without taking phone calls are answering knocks at the door. I have been working most everyday for about a month and needed the rest and isolation. I didn't even talk to my own kids because it was my get away weekend to leave all my cares behind. I did not make my family reunion as planned so I took my lemons and tried to make lemon-aide. She said she was offended and hurt because I did not explain actions (actually non-actions) over the last couple of days. She also said that I need to let them know if I will not be taking their calls or not communicationing with them in the future. Dah, I thought that in this country a person is free to do whatever they want with their off-time without having to get permission from one's boss?! I might be wrong, but I had scheduled to take the entire weekend off out of state without plans of checking in with the office until my return...what the h@!! is her problem. If a person doesn't take your calls and you know they are alive and well, shouldn't that speak for itself: "I DON'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED!!!!" Go ahead and make me the bad guy, why don't you! Her concern was: "You always come when we call you. When we ask you to do something for us, you always come when we call you." What am I, a dog? I know that I am considered pretty low by her statement. When I explained that I just wanted to be alone and relax, she said I should let them know and then they would not bother me. I am HOT! I can't wait to pay off my last two bills so I can get the H double hockey sticks out of here. I think I may need to consult a lawyer before this is over. When was the last time your boss got upset with you, and for what?

Yes you are too Hot roberten! Please take a deep breath. There are times that we really wanted to answer back, but the fact would still remain that they are our boss and we are bound to follow to every command that they gave us. Just don't talk when you are angry. It's okay to write all your feelings her in myLot. We are here to sympathized with you. I always experience this thing even in my present job. But being calm at all times is the best way to handle things like this.

You would be proud, ARIES, I keep it all to myself and just smiled at work and then let loose on Mylot. It won't serve any positive result to dump on the boss or his wife because they wouldn't understand due to our cultural differences. Anywho, I feel much better today. The world is such a lovely place, I have no time to worry about dumb stuff, LOL!! Thank goodness for Mylot friends...always here when I need 'em.

[Wow, she is a bad word I can't say here on mylot but it has something to do with a female dog. She had no right to demand that you be reachable on your days off unless that was previously arranged. The nerve. I have been working for myself for the last 14 years and I really tick myself off somedays . Before I worked for myself I worked for a company for 7 years and loved my job for the first 5 of them, until they hired in a woman as a controller and made her my boss, this woman had no business managing people, she was terrible and did mean stuff to me all the time, calling me in to her office for things that were nonsense like having a little picture of my dog on my desk, all while she was yelling at me I was staring at a picture of her dog on her desk. She would literally go through my desk drawers to try and find stuff to yell at me about she was rediculas, I finally quit after nearly 2 years of putting up with her. Best decision I ever made. I then went and worked for a great company with a great boss who thought the world of me, but I got pregnant again and could not justify child care costs for 2 kids so I started a home day care in my own home and took on 2 to 4 other kids. I started my own online business about 10 years ago when my two older kids went to to school full time. By the time I had my third my business was established and I am happy to say I have been able to work from home and be here for my children every day of their lives except the first year of my daughter's life, but she got watched by her grandma's and my sister's humsband's mom who loved her like crazy so she was in loving hands while I worked that first year. None of the grandmas wanted to watch two babies on a regular basis though.

There was no agreement that I was to be available, I was suppose to be out of state for goodness sakes. They were calling me on my personal cellphone which I bought and services I pay for. I went back to work Sunday and have been off since. I am suppose to go in Friday to cover for a coworker who is taking time off (AGAIN!!!). Things have been really weird since Sunday, someone has deactivated my apartment keys twice. Coworkers have been stopping my daughter and asking her what is wrong with me. I have not bothered anyone since I've been off, I really do not get these people. I do not like drama, I can't wait to payoff my bills so I can leave. The stress is getting a bit much. I do not think I can last as long as you did, I need quick relief.

Funny you should say that, mrswhitfield, my boss looks to me as a mother figure so he was worried sick that something terrible had happened to me. His wife, who has issues of her own, took it personally and was offended that I had the nerve not to respond when she called. She'll get over it, lol.... I will probably move into a hotel for a few days if something like this happens again and conveniently leave my personal cellphone at work. Oh, I know, I'm just too bad, . All is good with the world now.
