I just got some crocheting stuff and was wondering if you have any tips? Like how to hold the hook, how to do certain things..stuff like that. It has to be very descriptive as I will not watch videos on it for some reason....thanks guys! :)

I respond because I want to have your post in my mylot list. I want to see if you have any response. I cant imagine any other way of learning how to crochet by not watching videos.
When I learn it in my early teens, I watch my sister. Maybe you can join a club or something that holds classes on crocheting.
I also want to let you know that when you have learned to crochet, there are books that, to me, are heaven sent. They are Japanese crochet books. Even though I do not understand Japanese, they illustrate their patterns which is very easy to pick up.

PBS has a saturday show about crocheting. THe only thing I can say is to make very sure you are holding the yarn very loose and moving. THat yarn has to be loose and moving or you get tight stitches. Powder on your hands gives it a great smooth surface to run on and no moisture to make it hand up. And pull out a few feet of the yarn from the skein to make the yarn move freely. And count and take a break every couple of rows!
