Break the Boring Routines

I've recently observed during my everyday travels that everyone just go about doing their business doing the same routine over and over. For example, a student going to school then going home and repeat. There seems like there's "no life", being all silent and boring. The only time people will interact is when they see someone they know.
Have you ever wondered what if you started a conversation with a stranger while waiting for the train or bus? What kind of effect will they have on you?
Now, I'm not encouraging people to talk to strangers (I remember that was a number 1 rule as a kid) but just to break the silence and simply have a nice chat.
Since my time during first-year of university, I have managed to have a conversation with 2 complete strangers and each conversation I had with each of them went pretty well. Since I was not use to it, it kept playing in my head and I felt very positive about things right after!
One time, everyone was trying to squeeze inside the train but obviously people like their privacy and space. Then, a confident lady simply stated "I hope everyone brushed their teeth today" and everyone near her giggled, even I did too!
I think that if we can at least make someone's day, it would be something new and different. I have started to become more outgoing and have a more positive outlook in life. I also try and start conversations with people because you never know who'll you'll meet and you never know what impact they will have on your life!

Hello! Your discussion is a breath of fresh air!
I totally understand what you are saying because this just happened yesterday. I was looking at clothes and a lady complimented me on my hair- eventhough she did not work at the store. LOL. Right, then so I told her honestly as I had just got out of the saloon, thats why it looks good. Conversation went on from there.
Another time was when my mother and I went jogging at the park and a Caucasian male said hello. Later on we saw him again saying hello good day to other people whilst he was jogging. People do not do that here in Malaysia and it was really cool seeing someone do that. I wish people did that more, so friendly. Do not get me wrong, Malaysian people are incredibly friendly but rarely when just striking up a conversation with a random stranger especially whilst jogging.
I should be more like an extrovert. Thank you!

Hehe, it's a great feeling right? When you connect with something you just met and you can talk about similarities and what not.
I'm also trying to develop myself to become more of an extrovert, good luck to both of us (and anyone else who wants to join)!
Have a good day.

I've tried that as well. Talking to strangers especially when in line waiting for your turn in the shop or waiting in stops. It really makes a difference and it is a rewarding experience for me as well. I think if you have tried it once and it was good you'll do it over and over again and it will come naturally. It's true, by doing that you might have made someone smile and ease someone's pain, relax someone who is on their way for a job interview or find someone special. There are so many possibilities that could happen with just one conversation that you had with a stranger.

You're right. Now that I experienced this sort of thing, I've always wanted to try different things.
We must remember that not every situation will turn out good but somethings they will. We just have to keep moving on.
You never know if you'll become news friends with the next celebrity or successful business person!

Yeah! I agree we can break the daily routines everyday. This situation just happened to me yesterday. I got bored while waiting for my turn in the counter so I started to someone next to me. Oh! yes I totally agree that we must be careful talking to strangers but I just feel to talk with her. And it was unbelievable because that strange woman is my Father's relative which I never know.. We're not living in a same province that's why I don't know her for a long time.Really funny..What a small world and that conversation has a good impact an has a positive result.:)
