Gagan Narang made all Indian's proud by shooting Bronze in Air rifle 10 meter.
Last olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra didn't even qualify for the final.
The 29 year old Gagan Narang had the total score of 701.1.
Alin george from Romania got the gold medal with a score of 702.1 and silver was won by Italy's Niccolo Campriani with a score of 701.5.

Shooting has been India's most consistent and productive Olympic after Hockey. After Rajyavardhan won the Silver in 2004, Gold by Abhinav in 2008 and now this bronze by Gagan Narang. Hopefully there are more to come from Narang as there are two more events to go for Gagan. Let's see what he does next.
Cheers!

Shooting has been good for India in Olympics.
Now shooting have yielded one gold, silver and bronze for India in Olympics.
But in this Olympics, India managed to get only one medal, I wish that India will get more medals.Gagan has more matches that is good thing for us.

I am happy to see a lot of countries winning medals as opposed to the select few winning the majority. India has a huge population but at the games they just fail to shine(unlike the other commonwealth nations). Perhaps this is the start to better training and coaching back home?

Ye, India has a very huge population, but still the medals are not coming to account.
China utilizes their population well, they perform well in almost all events and wins a lot of medal.
I think there is not much training facility, encouragement and motivation is given to this area, otherwise India should also have become a big opponent to other nations....

Hi Venkit
I didn't see that play, but I have heard about this from the news channel. Its really great that we able to earn our first medal from this Olympic. Even it is Bronze we have it at least.. Still many plays remaining in this Olympic, and hope we will able to get some more. Best of luck to all players.

I was really happy hearing this news from a friend of mine when i was in office.he shot with under 10 in 3 attempts which made him lose the gold rank just by a whisker.really fell bad for it.but anyhow he has done india proud by getting first bronze
