and she sounded real good. She is working on her deamons and pot addiction. She was in the place for five days and will get out tomorrow. She said she has a place and even a job. I am really happy for her. I am glad I called. At first I didn't want to bother her because I felt she was probably working on things and I know how it can be to have outside stimulus at such a time but I am glad I did. It was good to hear her voice and that she has some resolve about the whole thing. I guess she didn't try to do herself any harm. She was just in a state of confusion and needed to be on her meds. She is on Paxal and is due back to the hospital in afew weeks for a meds check. I hope it all lasts for her and that she stays on her meds. I feel relieved. Any thoughts?

I read it and responded, as long as she stays on her meds, yes I know your fear, I am a therapist, but as long as she stays on her meds. It is not good for you to be afraid of what has not happened yet. It will make you sick, so just take the good when you have it, and continue to encourage her to take her meds, that is all you can do.

If you read the previous answer you will see what my fear is. But she is doing okay right now and that is good.

She is living way out where there is nothing to do and the lady works and is gone part of the day so she is alone.

My first thought was how could five days really be enough, but I see she will have followup. I also see she has the structure and support of a place and a job, so maybe it is going to be okay. I hope so.

Well, it is free with no insurance so five days is the limit I guess. I hope she will keep up on the follow up. I hope it will be okay also. She needs to keep with the program and not go off trying to find herself a man. SHe just isn't ready for that.

I hope she stays on the meds. One of the major things those with bi-polar disorder will do is get on meds, start feeling better and go off of the meds. All my kids have done this and it scares me. It is good she is back on and I hope she sees enough of a good change in herself that she will stay on them.

I hope your granddaughter stays on the right track! Sounds like she is trying! I hope gets better and doesn't keep doing crazy things! Mental problems are such a terrible disease and some people don't realize how much help they need to get better!

Being off meds can really mess a person up. My thinking changes when I can't get my prescriptions. Some nights I ask God to not let me wake up if I get to sleep. When I'm on my meds I can feel joy in my life but when I'm out and can't get anymore due to high doc copays then I start feeling hopelessness. It doesn't last, but it is intense sometimes. Especially if I get yelled at for something like a red headed stepchild. I feel like I don't fit in my family sometimes. I feel like I'm just tolerated to be company for my daughter while he works. It's not always like that but it happens. It's worse when I'm off my meds because the words hurt so bad.

I would think if you called your doctor's office he/she could fax over an ok for a prescription filled if you promise to come in to see him. I have done this with my dcotor. Plus you can get afew of your prescription at a time if you can't afford the entire thing. I know the hopelessness feeling. It can be very entense. We do tend to take negative things more seriously when I am down.

I hope things go okay for her. She lives way out and has nothing to do. Does have internet though so that is good. The lady works so she is gone part of the day and my granddaughter hates to be alone. We'll see I guess.

I hope she will too. I needed to talk to her. Maybe more than she needed to hear from me. I didn't want to interfeer with what she was doing there.
