Hello and welcome to mylot!
I remember that my mother in law cut a potato in half and placed it on her temples when she had a headache. A long time later I discovered that this was an old way of placing something cold there, when ice cubes weren´t available.

Okay, so maybe this isn't really a practical use of a potato that would be able to save someone money, but it is a fun and crafty use of a potato and that is to make stamps from potatoes that can be used for crafts.
You will put a cookie cutter into the potato and then trim around the cookie cutter. The result will be a stamp that can be used for kid's craft projects. It is an inexpensive way for children to be able to make some cool crafts.

if you put anything cold and damp there it will do the same, and the potato does work like a poltis to draw out The hurt.
