Home Again, And I Really Did Missed Him

I thought Logan will be gone for two weeks. I was wrong but very glad. Our friend borrowed Logan 3 days ago as a mate for his female cat. But, my cat and his cat didn't go well. More to this, Logan had tantrums because of other cats in our friend's home. Logan was also not eating.
This morning, upon his return, Logan looked so skinny. He still remembers me though and that made me happy. I too, missed him so much, despite of the thoughts of the allergies he'll soon give me.
Anyway, it never occurred to me than Logan can actually give signs of recognition or love to a master like me. I have asthma and we do not interact for long. But, this morning, my cat actually purred at me when he saw me.
Do you have a cat or other pet? How does your pet tell you that you are also loved and recognized?

We have a pet cat. We have had him for almost three years. He purrs at us as well. When we are getting home he often comes down stairs and rubs against our legs. He is a busy little guy but we love him.

My cat can just purr at me. Sad to say, he's always in a cage that he can't rub my legs. I'm actually allergic to cats but working on it. I am still glad that he still acknowledge me as his owner.

Yes, he will get out of his cage. I believe, I can tolerate him when I can be exposed to him more. My real problem is I have a toddler. I can't take care of both, petting a cat then holding my son. I fear that he could develop cat allergy too. Anyway, when he goes to school next year. I can take Logan to the shop with me.
I had my cat on December 2010, as a Christmas present from my husband.

How long have you had your cat? Cats can sense things. Perhaps he can tell that you are allergic. It is a good thing that he still acknowledges you. Do you think that you will reach a point when he will be able to come out of his cage?

This made me remember my cat "Empoy" He always stay inside the house, and he used to stay inside. He sleeps beside me, when I'm watching tv he sleeps on my lap. One time, I believe it was their mating season, we did not noticed Empoy got away and slipped through the opened door.
We tried looking for him all over the place. Until such time that we reported his loss to our local baranggay. I gave them a picture, but the only picture I had was the two of us there. I told the brgy officers to tell their local police that we are looking for the cat and not the person. They might suddenly pick me up. lol!
After 4 days, we heard his voice from our neighbor's house. Our neighbor reported to us that they heard a cat's voice but they cannot locate where. They allowed us to enter their house and there we found empoy underneath their veranda. When he saw me, he excitedly run to me. He was also so skinny and dirty. We took him home and was happy to find him back.

Your cat must have really glad to see you. And very pitiful of him that he suffered hunger. I don't want any of my pets to go hungry. For me, pets are like little children who needs attention and care. You know, I consider myself as a mother to my cat and I know, its really silly.

It's not silly... I also do that. I even act as a midwife when my cat delivers her kittens. We treat them as our baby or little brothers and sisters. And we get more worried if we are out the house and we go home late because no one will feed them. We get more worried with them than my true younger brother who gets home from work with no food. lol!

My husband and I are like that too. I mean, when we go out especially over night, we always think of our pets back at home. Besides Logan, we have a dog and some aquatic animals too. We always leave our pets with plenty of food when we leave. But, having trips are actually rare for us. Anyway, so good to hear that I am not silly lol

Sleeping with cats is like sleeping with a teddy bear. Too bad, I can't do that because of my allergy. Yes, I guess when they sleep with you that is one way of recognition. That also means they trust you.

It's nice to have pets. It's really the obligation that can be tiring sometimes but when you feel their appreciation - how they look up to you, how they follow you, everything seems OK.

Your "friend" shouldn't be breeding cat's in the first place. There are already too many cat's that don't have homes and die in shelters or in the wild.
And it was irresponsible of you to even "give" your cat to him to use like that. If you "love" your cat so much you never would have done that and you would get your cat fixed, be a responsible pet owner.

My friend loves to take care of cats and he breeds special types of cat for an income. My cat Logan is a Siamese, his cat is also a Siamese. He offered me a deal of a percentage for kittens he would sell out of Logan and his cat. I don't really care. I lent him my cat because I want Logan to interact with other cats.
I have asthma and because of that I usually kept Logan in a cage. I feed him regularly, give him a bath every Sunday but I can't pet him for so long. My children also fear him because he is still playful when out of his cage that he chases my kids. I feel an irresponsible pet owner though because my cat is not really happy with me.
Still, I am glad that he recognizes me as his owner.

I'll think about it if I would want to give him away. My youngest son is going to school next year. I can keep Logan in a leash in my shop with me and when he is not afraid of people anymore, then I can unleash him. I will probably build my immunity in him. A respondent here says its possible to be immune to a cat.
You must be a real cat lover. You spoke truthfully and I am so sorry if I have upset you. Thank you for your concerned thoughts.

Hi phoenix35,I don't have any pet in my house. It is funny that I am scared of staying with dogs before this year.I had ever chased by a crazy dog when I was very young,so....But after I had a visit to my good freind two months ago,I was not afraid of dogs any more.My freind have a lovely dog,Samoyed. He love his dog very much. From my view,he regards the samoyed as his kids since he is the single.when I went into my friend's house, the dog came to me actively. At first ,I was very nervous and scared. But my friend tried his best to let me feel the lovely dog's kindness,he told me the dog is welcoming me,I can do something interact to him , you know then I had a try, with my hand touching him.It was really wonderful,he was gentlely lie on the floor..I spent a happy afternoon with the dog.It is amazing that I am not scared of dog from that day.
Thanks

It's really amazing when an animal interact positively to people. For me, it's when my cat would want me, to carry him. When Logan was younger, he can sleep on my lap while I work something with my PC. But, nowadays I fear for asthma attacks :(

If we are lucky cats may choose to love us.I have been away for a couple of days and my mum told me that our cat had missed me as she had been looking around the house for me.The night i got back she sat on my knee for ours .Everytime i put her off so i could do something she watched where i went and when i sat down again she jumped straight back onto my lap. When my dad passed away she looked for him for months after. She slept on his bed with him for weeks when he was ill and genuinely missed him when he had gone.Cats are definitely not as aloof as people say and can have just as close relationships with their owners as dogs do.

Well i have a dog and he knows when i come home from work and just loves it. I put my stuff down and sit on the floor so he can jump on me and give me kisses. Hes very little and oh so cute LOL.
On sunday me and the boyfriend arrived from a vacation with the family and he stayed at his mom and dads house and was a little to excited on Sunday when we went over to the house. He loves my boyfriend, this morning when i woke up i couldnt find the dog but them two were cuddled up together and the dogs head was on his arm it was so cute. Them two are the best of freinds. They do alot together since my boyfriend doesnt work, they go on car rides together and go see people during the day and sometimes just have a lazy day at home.

Wow, that pit bull must be really amazing. Lucky you that he knows you as a master. I would want that dog for my house. Very useful for burglars yet very affectionate to the owners.

Aw, I don't like the sloppy licking too. We had a dog back then. But, it's their way of showing that they like someone. I would want to be licked by a dog than be bitten lol
