My sister in law is really into Young Adult novels and has passed a few over to me. I loved The Hunger Games series and read them in less than a week. I read Twilight a couple of years ago and devoured them. Recently she's handed me The Wolves of Mercy Falls and I'm about half way through the first book. I'm really annoyed with the author's complete lack of connection with her characters and failure to make me love them. It's supposed to be a love story, and although the character's love is in full swing, I'm not feeling it. I feel rushed - I know their tragic histories (already), their actions/thoughts frequently don't coincide with the situation or character, and so many things just don't make any sense (how does an 11 year old get locked in a car? Um.. can't you just unlock the door?).
The storyline itself is getting interesting, but I don't know if I can handle finishing the trilogy. I'm so annoyed with the author. It really feels like she's just trying to have the next "Twilight", but is sorely lacking the talent.
Has anyone else read this series?

I have not read this trilogy, but it doesn't sound as if it's a good one. I am a avid reader of all subjects. I do also enjoy some young adult novels, my 14 year old gets me into them. Id you enjoyed the Twilight series, you may enjoy the Vampire Academy series. I highly enjoyed them and devoured every one of them as did my daughter. Just thought I'd pass the suggestion along.
