How do you get an online business going?

I started a website, you can find it on my profile.
Anyway, I started after many people told me i should try and sell my rag purses.
I have also decided to put some of the handmade jewelry i made online as well.
However i have had no luck at selling and i have very little traffic to my website.
what ideas do you know to help me out?
Have you ever done something like this?

I think you can use ebay to sell your stuffs. A lot of internet users visit ebay daily to search for the stuffs they like to purchase. First create an account in ebay and then showcase your products there. If someone likes your products, then they will buy it. You can also promote your ebay products page through social networking sites. I think ebay allows free showcasing of your products. So you need not spend even a penny to showcase all your products to a huge mass of people all over the world.

I used ebay before but, i didnt have any luck. I think its because there is so much out there on ebay half the time people dont see everything for sale.

Yeah, maybe.
The problem is i have mostly people i went to school with on there and i doubt they would buy anything hand-made you know how kids can be everything has to be from the mall with them.

Hi, I dont have online website but my sister sell her products on FB and through her Blackberry Messenger contact, she sells tupperware, bedcover, foods, beauty products. I sell my crochet items and crochet supplies through her account. It is not easy we need to have a large network, add more and more people to your social network sites, if you dont want to mix it with your real life friends then make another fb. Drive more traffic to your website or your fb page by making contest or give away.
